There was a point where the Jets were getting chances but they weren't going in. I'm of the opinion that in that situation you stick with what's getting you chances and the goals will come. Instead the team's now in a constant blender and instead of getting chances and not scoring, they're not getting chances and not scoring.

Outclassed and outplayed. The coach bump has lost its shine. Chevy, you have lots of work to do. The Jets call the east teams their daddies.

didn't he call out our bottom 6 scoring? I think putting the lines as he did tonight was to try and spread out the offense...
I think that was the plan - and maybe shake up the talent a bit.
Adding our bottom six into the top only makes your top look worse - but he was likely trying to dumb it down a bit to get these guys playing a more basic offense game (net front, shoot more, less fancy, etc)

Jets have 5 losses and 7 wins in their last 12 games.

Something to consider - since the Jets 18 - 7 - 1 start, the team is 16 - 14 - 0. That works out to a 87 point season which is almost exactly the same as Maurice's final season.

Perhaps that new coach bounce we always here about that lasts 20 games? 30 games? 40 games? applies to Bowness and the Jets? At this point, we have to consider that a real possibility.

Seems like he's trying to play board battles all of his lines. Somebody needs to take his bottom six players away from him, because Maenalanen on the top line and Ehlers on the 3rd is an absolute f***ing travesty.

The flaws are way beyond that. We are routinely outplayed.

The Bownaissance is coming to an end, and this roster is going to see a total upheaval over the next 2 years. They can help insulate themselves by trading for Meier and extending him, but only trade for him if you are confident you can extend him. He is worth it. Give him Wheeler money over 8 years. You can afford it once Wheeler's contract is done and Dubois is gone.

Good observation. Sometimes blending the lines just to blend them isn't the right decision. I also thought the team was generating chances but just wasn't able to put pucks in the net.

We need a Hyman type or two on this team. A guy that can get his nose dirty but has the instincts and enough talent to play off of skill players.

Yeah the Ehlers usage has been mind boggling. He seems to have learned to trust Cole though as he has been out late in periods lately and for defensive faceoffs. So I guess baby steps.

So, since all our injured players came back we’ve pretty much been playing like sh*t.
What happened to the team that was always skating hard and out working the other teams.

It’s feels like they’re regressing back to the past couple years where they believe that their talent will take them to the promised land. But it won’t.

no, I want to add middle six players and push down our current 3rd line to the 4th, we have the cap space to do so... really not that hard to do right now....
For 20 games plus playoffs...rinse and repeat next year.

Do you think adding a couple middle six guys makes us a contender? With that blueline and intermittent effort from our top 2c's?

I wonder if we blinked and missed another Svechnikov/Wheeler/Maurice situation where Bowness made a change to get someone going and f***ed everything up for the rest of the lineup. I can't think of an analogue from this roster for that comparison to make sense though so :dunno:
