Don't forget the Stanley Cups they also won with them , we haven't even gotten to a Stanley Cup final with Scheifele and Wheeler . I don't think all the blame for this season is on only Scheifele and Wheeler but at some point you have to change things up if it's not working. All i know is if i was Chipman i'd be pissed that i spent to the cap and didn't even make the playoffs and as we all know everything is about money.

As if getting to the finals is so easy.

If the bar is Crosby and Malkin, you’re always gonna come up short…

The difference, which you fail to see, is Crosby and Malkin have led the Penguins to a playoff spot, unlike 26 and 55. I hope you can understand that.

No, leading them to a playoff spot or Stanley Cups isn't the criteria here that you laid out, you're just shifting it to fit the point you want to make. You suggested the team is better without both 26 and 55 because they're 5-0 without them. Wouldn't a positive record without 2 players then mean that the team is better off without them?

I'm very impressed with this Barron guy so far. He scored a beauty of a goal, on a great assist from Ehlers, so he has nice scoring hands. He's also quite big, and likely will be just ideal for the Jets, being very young. I believe he also had an assist as well, giving him 2 points in his first NHL game - very impressive. Also I read he was the runner up for the Hobey Baker award, for US college, so many scouts thought there was a lot of talent there. This guy could be a real game changer if he works out.

The Jets need to begin now to start guys like Samberg, Barron and Chisholm, and if some of them work out, then move out some of our high paid defenseman, and hopefully get rid of Wheeler as well, which won't be easy.
I have heard rumors that Paul Maurice is refreshed re-motivated and...

Prepared to squash such optimism with a comeback...

The Jets must return to dependable older players who play their role...

And are good in the room...

Barron has played 24 games in the NHL.

Dylan Samberg should never come out of the lineup.

Seconded.

I just have a hard time seeing Blake swallow his pride and accept a diminished role and say the loss of the C. Both things I think are necessary to move this thing forward. It might be tough to move him but I think it should be seriously looked at. This is no loner his team, nor should be be catered to any longer.

I think we're starting to see this leadership changeover with PLD and Morrissey talking in the post games news conferences after losses.

The title should be 5-0.
Jets record when Wheeler & Scheifele are both out of the lineup.

You do know that Pens have a better record without Crosby than with him, right? And that is over what is now a pretty substantial sized sample.

Still, this does appear to reflect something real, but maybe the key word there is appear.

This was probably brought up before but I don't recall having seen it. Sanford was originally drafted with one of our picks.
2013-Jun-30 Draft pick rights traded from Winnipeg Jets to Washington Capitals for round 3 pick in the 2013 draft (Jimmy Lodge), round 4 pick in the 2013 draft (Jan Kostalek) and round 5 pick in the 2013 draft (Tucker Poolman)

I agree but Wheeler and Scheifele have been here for a long time and we seem to be taking a step back not forward, it's time for a change.

Yes, I've heard rumours of the same thing, that Maurice is reinvigorated, and rested, and thinking of making a comeback to save this team -- you know, to finally push that rock up, and over the hill.

Take

26 and 55 are not team players.
Simply put, the Jets are unbeaten with them out of the lineup.
For all the points they put up, they give up far more.
Not leaders.
I hope Chevy unloads them like Minny unloaded Parise and Suter.
They probably have their own change rooms with a star on the door with their name on it…….🤔🙄

I have noticed that but is that because the team is transitioning to them or is it because the media doesn't want to talk to Wheeler as much. We heard earlier that they aren't asking for him all that much anymore due to his more confrontational approach with them.

Does it matter? He's still the captain - if the face of your franchise is not there when you lose, what's the point...

He lost me when he cried at that presser that the Winnipeg media never wrote positive stories about him... after seven years of softball questions and rah rah Wheeler articles.

That last contract could be Chevy's downfall - Wheeler made $10 million this year while TNSE is losing money... and literally has done nothing to sell the product or endear himself to fans.

That was along the lines of what I was getting at. He's still the leader in the room, he just isn't talking to the media as much.

I was so dang impressed with Barron - someone should show that tape to Vesalainen and explain to him THAT is what you do when you get the chance to play with talented guys!

81 - 80 - 71
36 - 25 - 27
91 - 55 - 26
19 - 17 - 12

That's a forward lineup that could do some damage.

Missing the lollygaggers...

My boss called me that the other day...

I would like to apologize for my comments yesterday in the GDT. I lied about the fact that my boss called me a lollygagger the other day... As it was pointed out to me by my co-workers this morning, the boss actually said I was dilly dallying. I just wanted to set the record straight and hope that you can forgive me...:sarcasm:

Yup, Barron's play in that game was noteworthy and great to see. It will be very interesting to see if he can sustain that level of play for a stretch of games here.

But the bigger message to me is just how valuable Stastny is to the team - particularly at C where we have been abnormally weak for some time now. Stastny thinks and plays such a strong game, with the ability to make anyone he plays with better - it is simply inconceiveable to me that this org hasn't played him at C earlier this season.IIt surely can't be lost on the coach's how well Stastny/Ehlers play together - can it?

The insistence to run Lowry at 3C hurts this team. We could have easily run three scoring lines all year. It would make bringing up and integrating these young guys much easier. We'd have spots for all of Perfetti, Svech and now Batron to show what they can do in more of an all around role.

Perfetti Scheifele Ehlers
Conner Dubois Svech
Barron Stastny Wheeler
