Yeah. Nice clip. However, I dream of the day that Maurice would have the stones to call out our top guys (looking at you 55 and 26) when they don’t play well, instead of only the younger guys.
that was what I was trying to say. people say he calls out the younger players all the time. but he doesn't. nothing remotely close to this.

It’s sad that a big win and the Jets going 4-0-1 in the last five has a post game thread filled with crickets whereas a loss will be loaded with calls for Maurice’s head.

Huh?

Your post is #114. How many times are we supposed to come and say, YAY Jets?

It was a Sunday afternoon game immediately followed by a Bombers PO game. Whatta ya want?

When have you heard Maurice call out any of the younger players publicly?

Still unable to watch the games beyond highlights due to travel but just stat-watching... one has to wonder how sustainable the recent run of wins is. Stats are worse than than the Ottawa Senators of the last couple of seasons. Banking points is nice but unless Maurice fixes whatever is going on, it will all be futile.
What stats are you talking about? Possession stats I have seen have the Jets middle of the road. They are 16th in the league CF%. xGF% is low, but most likely this is short term variance that will regress over time. Considering how many people left the Jets for dead after the first few games of the season I'm quite enjoying the ride.

Man Scheif sure has a dent in that shoulder that got hurt a couple of seasons ago . Good thing it doesn't bother him or affect his shot .
Dent? I see no dent, but now I can't stop looking for it.

If you look at his shoulders his right one dips lower than the left , i would guess from when he went into the boards and separated it a couple of seasons ago . I think he had surgery on it but i don't remember for sure .

I don't see it in the picture I posted. That dip you're seeing can just be bad posture too.

Or he just has a shitty shoulder after the hit, as you've suggested.

I find this stuff interesting after my own physiotherapist has pointed out imbalances in my build. Just little things you don't really think much of until it's explained to you.

Watch the video again until the end , you could be right about posture but i see a dip on his right shoulder compared to the left . Someone phone him and ask if his right shoulder has a dip now .

Something we need to keep in mind in evaluating Wheeler at C is that we are going to have Wheeler in the top 6 somewhere regardless. Playing 2nd line reduces his minutes a bit, which is a good thing in itself. If playing C also makes him more defensively aware we are gaining there too even if he is not an ideal C.

I would still prefer to see Rosie getting a shot at 2C with Little out. Just swap him and Wheeler on that line. But the line seems to be functioning pretty well on the strength of the fit between Ehlers and Rosie.

If Wheeler continues to play a sound D game at center, I'd leave him there - if that changes, I'd consider giving Roz a shot.

It's an interesting line in that Roz and Ehlers settled in quickly and Wheels is letting them do their thing while keeping his game simple (almost Little like) and that might have been the plan when they put this trio together.

I also like the fact that Roz is getting his minutes giving him a chance to play against better competition without the responsibilities that come with playing C. His confidence is climbing - he's trying new things and becoming a very slippery player. In general terms, this type of development will help his over all game - when he gets his shot at C, he'll walk into that role as a more sound, confident player.

Roz has had his ups and downs over the last few years (IMO) - I don't want to rush him at this point considering he has finally got it going and we're seeing consistency in this game. Personally, and for the first time, I can see him centering the 2nd line at some point not too far down the road.

About 3 games ago. Called out Roslovic for playing poorly - right after he scored the OT winner. Anyway, my point is, he is never critical of his prized veterans.
That was a pretty soft criticism of Roslovic and we have no idea what Maurice says to the vets behind closed doors. What we do know is over the last few years Maurice has given more opportunities to the kids then pretty much any coach out there.

I honestly hope they keep Wheeler at 2C until further notice. When Little comes back, move him down or to wing.

Copp and Lowry belong together, and Wheeler and Scheifele belong apart.

I’m basing this on the last two games, so this opinion could change, lol.

I just wanted to say Happy Rememberance Day. Nice to see the Jets win back to back at home. The divisional games have a little more rivalry to them. I think Wheeler started it with the hit on Lindell, but it was brewing from the opening whistle. The fact we are 3-0 in these games is a very positive sign, if we want to be a playoff team.

Liked the 3 lines, and how Maurice is showing a lot confidence in Copp and Lowry. Spreading out the talent on the PP has been an interesting change, and now we have teams guessing what we are going to do more often.

I like this patchwork defense too. The 6 guys playing in the lineup deserve to be in the lineup. Morrissey is playing with more confidence of late too, which translates well. Kulikov has his struggles at times, but he is still a pretty smart defenseman. Down the road you can see Samberg in that spot, and that could be a game changer.

I like the way this team is battling for one another, and growing as a team. That's what good soldiers do, and we have some good rifles on this squad to help in the fight.

Just a collection of crap I've got laying around from the Jets 1.0 years. Wife got me the 'fefe figure off Amazon for $6.:naughty:
No burnt offerings or anything like that:D

There was this picture of Laine (and possibly Scheifele) with cookie offerings, was that also from your "collection"? I tried to Google for the picture but couldn't find it :(

If Buff gave this team a heads up and we found a decent replacement for him we would be sitting pretty damn good right now. Get Heinola some experience and get him up here and this team isn't looking bad at all.

Wasn't it more of a remark about how well Roslovic fought adversity?
Maybe that is what he intended. To me it just came off as totally inappropriate and unnecessary. But full disclosure. I’m also someone who is having difficulty seeing outside of my own narrative that he has lost a portion of the room and is also unsuited to the type of team that Chevy has constructed.

Great White North eh...
As great as Helly has been playing, his puck handling is driving me crazy. On at least two occasions he held onto the puck behind the net way too long and almost got stripped off the puck. One time it got tangled up in his feet as he was trying to get back in the net.
Coach should make Helly only play the puck behind the net to corral shoot ins and leave it flat for the defencemen. No puck handling or waiting until opposing player pressures him.
He's so bad at it, that he really needs to work on it and his communication with our d men over and over until he can be trusted. Leave the puck handling to the defense.

9 out of 10 possible points in the past 5 games.

I wonder how much the Sharks game helped for the players pulling their heads out of their asses. I imagine they felt pretty embarrassed walking away with the win there.
