With a smart puck moving partner I think he would be an excellent 3rd pair guy who could move up and play #4 for a bit if you absolutely had to. How is he on the PK? Above below average?
The problem I see and I think I said this in another thread is that with the extra years on his deal unless PHI is willing to eat 50% and possibly even find another partner to do double retention his value isn't much above a 2nd / 3rd and a B level prospect. If they hold him and move him in the summer of 26 with one year left they probably get about the same back in a trade and don't tie up a retention spot plus they get the benefit of a decent player next year. If PHI had guys ready to go that they needed to get NHL reps then I guess that might change things but that doesn't seem to be the case.
