Lol who was saying Brad Lauer should be the head coach? In his first year he took the powerplay from 17th in the NHL to 23rd, and it went downhill from there!

I thought that was Arniel, no?

Yes, that was Arniel who filled in for Bones both times.

Bowness missed time at the very start of his tenure as Jets coach with COVID (that laid him up for a few weeks and then he came back and then he took some more time I think?). And then last year when his wife was sick - and that's when the Jets went on a bit of a run and people were saying maybe this Arniel guy would be make a good HC.

Edit: And I think there was a 3rd time when Bowness took time off for a procedure but it wasn't too long an absence.

Pretty sure it was Lauer 2 years ago and Arniel last year... maybe Im wrong - it might have been that our powerplay sucked while Lauer was on leave (?)

Yeah, my memory isn't the greatest. I can definitely remember that I have never wanted Brad Lauer to be our coach hahaha
