Was at the game last night. Great atmosphere had some clients in from Toronto and Montreal and they loved it.

Scheif was playing his man game last night. If he could play that way all the time he would have a monster year. Just too big and too strong everywhere on the ice

Panthers remind me of the Jets under Maurice when we had Buff/Wheeler etc... It seemed like Ekblad was out there every other shift. Reinhart also seems to be a Maurice guy. But they play hard and fast. They have the top end guys to play Maurices style, it will be interesting to see how long he keep it going there but that way of playing will wear on players.

Great game to be at.
The crowd was as energetic as I have seen in years.
Good games from Sammy, Smoke, JMo, Helle and of course, 55.
I pointed out to the better half how much time is spent in the opposition's zone when Lowry's line is on the ice. I thought that line had a hell of a game.
I sat beside my step-daughter and was impressed at her knowledge of the game, a really good hockey fan and a huge Helle supporter.
With 5 games left, I think my prediction of 19 points is going to be on the low side.
KFC is so deadly when he is in close and his gaf meter is waaaaaaaay higher than last season.

GO JETS GO!

Does Comrie get Pitt or the Preds?

Was really impressed with the quality of game. Great pace to it and both teams seemed to be competing at a high level. I came away impressed with the Panthers game. They will be tough for teams in the east to beat in a 7 gamer series in the playoffs of they are healthy.

Lots to like about the Jets game last night. Very good response to a rough two games in Florida.

Annual reminder that if we don't win the draft lotto in 2016 we don't draft Laine and we very likely would have drafted Tkachuk.

If you look back at the pre draft threads you will see plenty of wild takes on how drafting Tkachuk would have been terrible because of things.

Now he sits 2nd in scoring from that draft behind Matthews and has a cup

I dunno man... the schedule gets tight

Probably only 7 games this time :sarcasm:
We have to win 16 to make up for the 2 game skid 😏

Although I agree that he is a pain in the butt, you do realize that he is 6'2"?
So, a big bitch?

We also don't have Vilardi, IA, and Kupari.

Obvy Tkachuk is the best player but that's a big chunk of our success right there.

Yup, I think Connor has been a revelation this year and the one player who's walked the walk the most when it comes to upping their game.

I just hope he leaves something in the tank for the playoffs

Ehlers reaction said it all. No reaction from Barron, but you know he would have got the gears for an empty net hat trick, which luckily Maurice prevented. Still going to get the gears for being the best empty net shooter on the team.
He was SO HAPPY

I hope he gets the Preds. Helle gets a 3 day rest before Crosby & Co, leaving our cute little goalie to take on the mustard cats.

They really try to get him that puck on the powerplay when he's right in front so he can try that in-close move.
We've seen him use that move to try to score and we've seen him use it to set up the blind behind the back pass to Connor... I wonder if there are any other wrinkles

If nothing else, it forces the PKers down low to respect him which opens up the cross ice lane between Schief and Connor, and gives Ehlers a little more ice to work with in that bumper spot

Tkachuk would be long gone from Winnipeg already if we drafted him. No chance he would have stayed.

Plus without drafting Laine, we would not have Vilardi, Iafallo or Kupari today. Ot to mention how much fun Laine was for fans his first two seasons.

In hindsight I am glad we were able to snag Laine and not Tkachuk. If given a redo I would make the same pick 10/10 times.

Who knows. Tkachuk has family ties to Winnipeg that he didn't have in Calgary. With his mom's family here, he may have embraced being a Jet
