I want to see him do it in the playoffs. I know the Hart is a regular season trophy but at this point, performing in the playoffs and winning a championship is all that is left to measure with this group.

It was between his pads and underneath. Schiefele essentially dug it out - if that was us we'd be livid.
We all want to see him do it in the playoffs, but I legit think he has a shot at the Hart this year. And can we get Comrie enough games in the event they win the Jennings again, lol.

I would disagree that Schiefele "dug it out". it was pretty well exposed in the replays I saw. If anything, you can argue Vilardi "torpedoed" the pad of Woll, but I mean if Berube and his staff didn't challenge it, it would stand to reason that it was never gonna get overturned. Its not like he challenged it and lost, and we all argue over the decision. Toronto didn't even feel it challenge worthy so not sure how anyone can say it shouldn't have counted

I'm not going to argue about it too hard, I'm delighted it counted :)

KC and Scheif are playing hot right now
Let's keep this momentum up after the break!
I would include vilardi in there as well. I’m super impressed with his puck handling abilities in tight spaces and his puck battles in general.

It’s not about the playoffs for me anymore.

Regular season starts in October and ends in the spring so it is really here to take us through our winter months. It’s 82 games of ups and downs. The tournament in the spring for the cup is that thing you hope for once in your life but honestly it’s so far fetched I have decided to not worry about it anymore. If it happens it happens, if not then so be it. Playoff hockey is often just a week or two and it usually sucks for us.

Expectations are the thief of joy.

Yesterday was a great day to be a Jets fan as a stand alone event. I have let go of having how we do in the spring tourney impact my journey.

Merry Christmas and Happy holidays all.
Couldn’t have said it better. My feelings exactly.

Including the “Merry Christmas to all”.

didn't get a chance to watch this. but box store watching great showing form our top line notably scheifele, since the Jets were 0-6 since that video from 2021.

i also echo the sentiments for helle and the hart but also that he needs this level of play in the POs

It is really encouraging to see the top line continue to slowly climb in their 5 on 5 results

Up to 25 goals for 21 against on 52.5% XGF and 48.6% shot attempts

That's up from 11 for, 13 against on 35% XGF and 41.8% shot attempts

Took some time, but they are seeming to get hemmed in less? Doing this in front of Fleury-Pionk and Stanley-Heinola for a chunk of time makes this even more impressive tbh...

I’m comfortable with this goal since the ref had a better view than I did.
I'm comfortable with it because it's the Jets who scored. Coincidentally, I'm also upset about the Leafs second goal which was scored after a commercial break following a correctly called icing that was incorrectly called back. Some people may call this bias, but I don't see it.:xsign:

That third goal should have never counted, but other than that it was pretty decent.
There was an angle in the highlights that showed it sitting behind his pad.

Edit: which of course I can't find now. I swear I saw it in the postgame.

Agreed Vilardi compliments Scheifele and Connor well. They needed a big winger who creates space and also has the puck skills to setup as well as score.

What would they challenge on that play? Ref never lost sight of it so didn’t blow the play dead.

Goalie interference maybe, but they wouldn’t have had a strong case.
Agreed. Leaf goalie had already made the save and the puck came loose. He wasn't in the act of trying to save the puck so it stands to reason that Mark didn't interfere with any attempt to save. I think Berube said something to that effect after the game - there was nothing to challenge.
