Post-Game Talk: Jets 5 - Hawks 4, in a SO

Maybe. BTO sales haven't been great and I've heard rumors of moving them over to the concert hall and/or moving them to the Sunday slot.

Apparently the Jets are also a little peeved at not playing Saturday given their likely the top team in the league. While I get that, it will guarantee a late start because you know Toronto is getting the primetime slot. Sunday might be better for their play, if not for liquor sales.
Easter Sunday? WWJD?!

Yup we need him in and all the 4 lines going, 1 line wont be able to carry this team in the playoffs
Very much agree with this post. We have to have Ehlers in the lineup, and all 4 lines playing well, if we’re going to make a deep playoff run.

This team doesn’t have superstars like McDavid or Mackinnon, that can carry a game by themselves.

We have a bunch of well above average players, and we need them all to win.

Our difference makers are Connor, Scheifele, Morrissey and Ehlers.

Trying to win without a complete second line will be tough sledding. I just hope Ehlers will be ok, and ready to go.

My young son is only a little bit into hockey so far.
He can get excited but his attention isn't there to make it through a game.
Him screaming with excitement for his favourite player winning the shootout is up there as a new favourite hockey memory.

Pray that Ehlers and Vilardi can be ready for round 1.
Barron is starting to look really important for this team.

I love that it was a PP configuration of Pionk, Samberg, Nino, Barron and Appleton that dug the team out of an early, flat footed deficit.

And then Iafallo makes the play that sets up the game tying goal.

From there it was #44 leading the team.

Forward injuries are getting a little concerning. The depth is being tested. Lambert talking a pop tonight doesn't help either.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow who is banged up. Who earned a promotion.

I'd give Scheif, KC, Lowry, Morrissey and Samberg the week off. They've been the leaders on this run.

1st overall would be nice but not necessary.
We attained 1st in the west.
Sit some players now Arnie.
Look at Heinola and some Moose players.
Give Comrie the last 2 games.

Ehlers will be fine... sit out next 2... game 1 will be in 8 days.... vilardi already rejoined team be ready to go b4 start of post season... love to see kupari. Heinola... lambert hit the ice next cpl games and give the starters some rest... connor...shieffle... ehlers prolly be off tomm and maybe even Wednesday.... I could see vilardi start practicing with team late next week... Morrissey will take much needed few days off.. hopefully minni loses next game and blues win.. regardless I'm not to concerned about ehlers seems precautionary... I don't see him missing more than a week with a tweak of the ankle

Yea I heard them mention tv will inevitably determine the date and time so I assumed the worst slot due to our terminal pecking order. Mc Drai get the glamour Saturday late slot we get the usual left overs.

Helle is the best or one of the best goalie stick handlers in the league. It’s was just a lucky bounce.for the Hawks.
Every player including MacKinnon or Crosby has their passes knocked down … does that make them bad stick handlers?
Seriously I have never seen so many bounces go one way for a team in one game and yet the Jets never gave up with Helle making some great timely saves.
Also if the Jets would have lost tonight in regulation time … they would have clinched the central …. Dallas lost.
Jets were the better team … Chicago just got the bounces and the stats prove it.

It was a classic trap game. The Jets coming off two huge wins and the Hawks having nothing to play for.
I think it proves this team is different than other Jet teams because they did not give up when they could easily have. I hope this continues in the playoffs.
Chicago is a bad team but this was a test of mental fortitude, which I feel the Jets passed unlike in losses vs Van and Buff. If OT was longer the Jets win it.

Lol...President's Trophy "curse." How much of a sure thing does anyone think winning the cup should be for a team that finishes the 82 game season with 2 or 3 more wins than a few other teams? You figure it should be a 90% thing or something? Any of the top 5 teams in the league are pretty damn solid hockey teams who have a good shot at winning a series even if the team they face won 2 more games in the regular season.
