Post-Game Talk: Jets 5 - Hawks 4, in a SO

Fluery Schenn, or Heinola Schenn would be preferable, although Heinola not playing for so long is not ideal.

They gambled that Stan was the man, he isn't and never was. Now at least we have others, Miller, Fluery and Coghlan is playing very well on the Moose. Leading the team in pts / game by a mile
i find it hard to believe that a guy who was on the ice for pretty big minutes in 61 games this year.. on a team with 55 wins…
is as bad as you say.

i’ve watched every star in the league pull boners in almost every game they played. crickets…

Dmen make mistakes. it happens.
Morrisey messes up and costs goals…it happens.

Arniel said he believes Stanley gives us the best chance to win of the available options.

who am I to disagree with the Jets coach this year.

If Ehlers is out. Who gets the call up? We are bringing up guys for the playoffs anyway, for reserves. Lambert brings top 6 speed, more of a c than a winger. Toninato is playing well, is pretty reliable bottom 6 depth. Shaw is one of the top scorers and has a physical side, might be a good playoff depth guy.

Hopefully Vilardi is back, assume he'll probably play. Shaw or Tony might be the call.

I'd have a couple D as extras too, Coghlan, Salo and Bauer.
i want Walton!!!

Stan was fine. I agree with Crocket that Schenn and Stan are not a good combo.

They are both slow so either Miller Stan or Schenn fleury as ppl suggested earlier.

I’m conflicted…would love to shove it down everyone’s throat by winning the presidents trophy…but really don’t want to have to deal with the presidents trophy curse
There is no curse. It is a myth

Presidents Trophy winners have won the cup 8 times in the last 32 playoffs. By far the best winning %

Why do you guys keep going back to Heinola actually being NHL capable which he is not, Heinola in the PO's would be downright scary and embarrassing for him!~

I think the more important thing is if the v coaches had any intention of playing Heinola in the playoffs, they would have given him some games. I think we'd have to lose both Morrissey and Pionk for him to get in and in that case we'd be well and truly fooked

Somewhere Datsyuk is smiling.

That's about as ice cold as it gets for your first SO attempt in the NHL.

Yep, just a gorgeous goal. Perfecto.

And, for him, an outrageously OTT celly -- you could just about see his lips move for a millisecond before the group hug. I call that a smile.

What a banner (ahem) season. Hard not to believe this team can do anything at this point. Especially at full strength. Wonder who gets rested.

It actually wouldn't be as scary as Stanley. Did you see him take 3 consecuitive penalties in the playoffs last year, costing us game 3?

If Heinola had been playing the last 30 games, no doubt he would show better than Stan.

Even for a 3rd pair he's pretty bad. We have better options on the roster

I'm pretty sure the coaching staff know why Stan (and everyone else actually) plays ahead of Heinola,

Your obsession with Stanley is weird, especially since the coaching staff who's guided the Jets to the best record in the league prefers him to several of our options.

But he hasn’t so it’s a moot point.

I would think the hope would be Kupari comes off IR. Lambert hasn't really had a good year. 7 goals and 35 points in the AHL isn't screaming NHL top 6.

Yep - this Jets team is definitely different. They are a lock to win the cup. The run will start with an easy sweep in round 1 and then the cup is essentially theirs.

Like Morris Lukowich always says, "Don't bend your elbow, find a seat on the parade route and enjoy the ride."
No team is a lock except the leafs.
The Av's are resting their stars, Vegas has lady luck and Bettman on their side, the kings owned the Jets this season.
I a pretty sure Morris did not say that as he knows how tough it is to win a cup. I am also certain he is not a fan of strangers misquoting him or inviting over.

Not really beating the "I'm not a troll guys honest" allegations here.

I'd try Schenn on the left side with Miller on the right but I'd rest Schenn or let him go visit his family.

I think Arnie wants to rest some guys but I think the players want the President's Trophy...a lot.
After we win to night, expect to see a lot of players rested against the Ducks on Wednesday.
Helle shouldn't play either game.
