I don't think anyone had any idea how good Vilardi is. I expected him to be a downgrade on PLD in the near future with some potential of being as good or better in a few years but he has been absolutely unreal. The best player around the net in Jets 2.0 history and it's not even close. That element has been so lacking for this team in the post-Ladd era.

Vilardi is exactly the player we needed. Someone with hands that will play around the net, that can recover pucks, make plays and finish.

Vilardi is a damn good hockey player, and it is now time for us to start considering what his next contract will be, because it is looking like it will be substantial.
Even better than 21 games in a row, Jets have allowed no more than 3 goals in a game in 26 of the last 27 games.
The start of the year was terrible in terms of goals allowed by the Jets: 5, 4, 5, and 5 in the first 4 games for a total of 19 (4.75 GA per game).
But in 27 games since then, the Jets have only allowed more than 3 actual goals in 1 game: the 5-2 loss in Vegas on November 2nd.
NHL records will show they also allowed 4 goals to Montreal on October 28th, but this was a 4-3 loss in a shootout where the 4th “goal” wasn’t actually scored in 65 minutes of regulation plus overtime. It’s stupid for the NHL stats to count shootout wins as goals, no idea why they do this.
Discounting that fake goal, the Jets team GAA is 2.22 for the last 2 months — 60 goals in 27 games, since the 5th game of the year on October 21st. This is the 2nd lowest GAA in the NHL over that span, behind only the LA Kings.

So can’t they just keep ajf in the pb?The only Players we can send to the Moose without going through waivers would be Perfetti(not going to happen) and Heinola(who might go down for a conditioning stint).
Not sure what the Jets will do.
They did call Toninato back up so he'll go back down if Kupari comes back after the Xmas break. When Heinola is ready then you just drop Stanley off at the perimiter and tell him to f*** off.

Agreed. But it will impact other contracts down the line. And he is one of the players we need to keep as he adds an element we need in our top 6.
