Post-Game Talk: Jets 4 - Stars 1

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

15 games to go!!

Magic number is 5 now right any combination of Jets win and lost of bottom them in the wild card.

Then i hope
but its going to be tough

KC needs 16 points in 15 games to break 100

there is chance

but the 50 goals for both Scheifele and KC is out of reach they both have 35 goals.

Helly 11 wins in 15 games for sure he wont play all so

Helly 11 wins in 12 games? That is tough also.

President trophy thats going down to the wire. Been Capitals Jets all year.

going to be exciting finish!!!
I don't know, it would be a supreme heater but I think Schiefele and Connor have the potential to still hit 50. They both have lots of multi goal games in their histories.

Connor hitting 50 and 100pts+ would be such a great accomplishment.

Rantanen had no answers last night. Dallas about to have some major buyers remorse. Carolina would really made out like a bandit, essentially turning Necas into Stank and 2 1sts.

I loved watching Schenn manhandle Benn. So glad we have him for next year too - he looks like a good value for a 2nd and 4th.

Yeah i Really like the trade this year more than last year.

Last year were both good players but Jets have them kind of players already.

Tanev and Schenn

bring sandpaper
toughness

and locker room glue guys

Jets have the horses already they need these type of players when other team try to bully.

We shall see go Jets Go

So my daughter is in a volleyball tournament and I got home a bit late last night.

I watched the 1st period and that was one of the best periods I have seen the Jets play this season.

Quick overreaction to small sample size post:

Makes me wonder if this wasn’t our best trade deadline but time will tell.

I understand that both Schenn and “Taznev” have limitations and are complimentary assets. What I like about them so far is fit and identity. I have seen the stats on Schenn and understand what he brings and doesn’t bring but the key is what he brings our D core really needed. He has the size and toughness to replace what we lost in Dillion and our D core just got bigger and harder to play against. Branden has the energy to add to what we already have in our bottom six but he has a special swagger that is infectious. These guys aren’t taking away from our identity they are adding to it.

Schief and Connor really came to play last night.

Samberg is emerging as our second best defenseman and he took pressure off Schenn on the 2nd pair.

The defensive structure of our entire team in the first period was outstanding. That is the video you want to save and show back when the team strays.

Watching on TV the building felt like it was jumping last night.

Harley is an outstanding young defenseman. Frick what a draft pick at #18.

Dallas will be tough in the playoffs if they can get their top guys healthy.

Aside from the fantastic performance, and how well Schenn and Tanev fit in, I’m also feeling extra positive in view of Arniel benching Stanley in favour of Schenn/Fleury, even with a Pionk injury.

I hope that is for hockey reasons, and not because Stanley is secretly battling an injury or illness, because it seemingly extinguished a major worry I had for the playoffs that Arniel was just going to arbitrarily keep playing Stanley despite him getting danced around by faster players.

Goals Against race

Jets 155 (67 games)
Kings 169 (64 games)
Stars 170 (65 games)

Goals for race
Capitals 239 (66 games)
Jets 234 (67 games)
Tampa Bay 228 (65 games)

Jets have goal differential of +80
and i thought that is good

until i saw
1976-77 Montreal team with +216 goals differential
How did they do that!!!!
9 hall of famers on the team.

Just a reminder at how unbelievably absurd TSN and SportsNet would be if the grease or leaves were on the verge of winning the President's Trophy. It would be non-stop deluge, story after story, day after day, of how incredible they are. And yet here we are, TSN asking, are we better than a team ten points behind us in the standings?

f*** our media so badly. Us vs the world.
Oh God, I wish people would get over the idea that the Oilers are actually a serious challenge for the Cup. Last year was not to be expected, last year was a fluke, for a team with two superstars and not much else.

They're 4-6 in their last 10 games, and have only won two games in regulation time, but every time McDavid wakes up in the morning with a dry diaper, the media moves them up four spots in the Power Rankings, but if the Jets go on a road trip and only win three out of four, they drop from #1 to #3.

I don't care that the Jets are consistently underestimated, in fact it's kind of funny, but I get so very, very tired about hearing about the Oilers. The Jets are the best team in the league this year, by a whisker, and the best Canadian time by a country mile. End of story.

Great win from the Jets last night. No doubt no concern start to finish. Was interested to see that second pair in particular and thought they were v good. Absence of Stanley is nice too

Wow, just wow! What a game! Too bad about the shutout, I won't name names, but a solid effort from the home team. Plus, some pretty goals too! Crowd was amazing and I hope to hear that from the fans through to the playoffs and beyond! I give this game five "Beths" out of five...

The Prediction Contest for the game against the Krakenheads has been posted for your guesses. Try to get them in before HFBoards crashes again. The next game is available, so if someone would like to make the GDT, the sign-up sheet is open. See you on Sunday! Good night...

Never seen the show, but wow did this just take me back. She reminded me of that English girl in the French comedy L'Auberge Espagnole from 2002. And sure enough, that's her!

Anyway, fun times! Start of my holiday, actually managed to catch the first two periods. This team is going places!

Ya i think Chevy tried for the 2nd center and when that didn't work out he said ok i'm going to pick up a couple of players that work hard and are hard to play against.
PK improvement too. I think the lineup is set now. Barring injuries
