Heinous have blocked it. 😜
Of course he would have - probably would have covered them both while he was at it

Notice the play, Stan, and the forward that is NOWHERE near the play. He's not even an offensive threat. Stan has to have that. Kupari is floating around there near Stutzle, and DeMelo is floating to the point with Namestnikov. No one's in great position there, but there's only one dangerous passing play that they could execute, which they did.
Stan's basically alone with 3 guys below the dots

If Stan is consistently able to stop that on his own he is not a bottom pairing, but, in our top 4.

Heinola would also have turned it into a shorthanded goal.

Some basic stats. Ottawa got half of their shots (18) in the 3rd.

First line with 5 combined points tonight, plus 1A from Morrissey.

Don't praise MacLean, Scheifele and didn't know Scheifele was a religious man, "know that there's a plan for everything...and trust in God"

If you watch the video replay, Stutzle does an amazing job of circling up high and only drifts into the back door for a split second

One could make the argument that Kupari should have collapsed with him down low

But at the end of the day, it was as pretty of a PP goal as the one that we scored. Sometimes the other team just makes a great play

Again, there's only one dangerous play that could have been executed at that time, which was straight through Stanley. He wasn't alone with three guys below the dots - Namestnikov was there too.
Names is close but above the play - and he's a spectator - not sure why he didn't pick up the right side on the play - who was he covering? The points were already covered.
Don't want to get into the blame game too much in a PK situation but it looks to me like we got caught high on that play and Stan was in a tough spot.

Tkachuk was on his forehand. If Stanley moves to Stutzle, he walks into the slot uncontested.

Also a dangerous play

In a perfect world, Stan gets a piece of that pass. But I file it under "a play he could have made" instead of "a play he should have made"

It's like a goalie getting beaten cleanly by a shot from the top of the slot

The Jets started off slow, but came on strong at the end to shut up Galley. Man that guy just hates us, but then again, we hate him back! Some pretty awesome passing plays, but sometimes one too many passes, when a shot should have been taken. Anyway, it's a win and we will take it, I will leave the complaining to others. I give this game four "Munsters" out of five...

The Prediction Contest for the game against Trashville has been posted for your guesses. There are still plenty of games without a GDT creator, so here's your chance to shine! See you on Monday! Good night...

Just got back from the game. I'm now 3 for 3 when attending a game this season.

Jets should invite me to all the home games so we won't lose.
Well, they've only lost 3 games at home all year, so that's no surprise.

If you can guarantee that record for the playoffs I will personally pay for your tickets and popcorn (but not beer--I can't afford that).

He shouldn't have moved to Stutzle, either. He should have gone down low to block the pass from Batherson. Remove the cross crease and slot option and force the pass back to the point or back to the half wall. It was a pretty passing play, though.

Didn't expect to see Colin up there in the second spot. Could only watch the highlights, did he have an insane game or what?
