If you are not a contender ya might as wellbe a lottery team rather than a team stuck in the murky middle.
I believe without him they are a bottom 10 team. You do not have to agree with me but at least admit this team has deficiencies that contenders dont
so not it's not that were a lottery team, it's you would rather be a lottery team if you are not a contender? having trouble with all the moving of the goal posts you are doing... also seen a bunch of contenders have stretches of bad hockey as well... it's not unique to the jets, it is unique to the fans that don't watch other teams play though

pretty much every contender this year has had stretches of bad hockey, going to come down to who gets hot at the right time more then ever

I see a team being coached to hang on for dear life once they get a lead. How can that not end well :sarcasm:

They just keep allowing wave after wave of offensive attack like they can’t keep up with that speed. Nashville couldn’t finish the job, but Colorado and Dallas will.

Looking ahead at the Saturday game and we have another afternoon game?? What is that 3 in a row, and also not a national broadcast??? I mean, I like TSNs crew better than SN/CBC but still... Seems more and more obvious that the Jets get no love from national media

So it ended up being the Shitty Jets playing today. That's disappointing, but hey, we won I guess.

Also, WestJet is starting up seasonal flights to Trashville from YWG in September, so we can now go down in person and boo the shit out of the Kitty Cats!

100% agree with 'who gets hot at the right time' - Stars are 14-3 since they whipped us 4-1... better hope Scheif is not 'resting' during Thursday's game..

This is a bad take and you should be corrected.

I'm not some hockey crazy guy here where I watch hockey nine hours a day studying other teams. Even so, it's fairly easy to see that all the other teams in the playoffs have deficiencies too. Dallas has a garbage goalie among other issues, Colorado has a crappy goalie and little depth, Edmonton bad defence, bad goalie and no depth...etc...the list goes on. Even their fans admit to this stuff. Jets are no different.

Yes, it is amazing going on those other teams' pages and seeing 100% positive posts and all the thousands of comments being basically minor variations on: "This team cannot possibly be better; all the players are perfect and the coach utilizes them exactly as advanced stats would indicate and has literally never made a poor decision." Quite a contrast to here!

Soo line predictions for thursday?

81 will be back with 55, after 27-55-13 had a bad couple of periods vs. Nashville (I think this will be the case regardless of the fact that 81-55-13 didn’t play well 5v5 either once they got reunited (the goal was 3v3 in OT, not the same)). I think Bones will have that top line set up that way more often than not, he wants it that that way.

I think 91 will either be on the 4th line or in the press box, as I think Bones has some strange idea that he isn’t ready to play consistently on this Jets roster and I think his plan (even after 91 played really well over the last two games) was always to take him out or limit his minutes as soon as he would play a bad period or two.

I think 27 will likely be on the 2nd line, with Toffoli on RW of that 2nd line. 27 will have an extremely short leash and likely play sub 13mins in total if he makes a mistake or two.

Inexplicably, Pionk will keep on getting more minutes than he should.

From the bench?

Lol yeah from the bench or playing 10 mins per game. He didn’t have a good game tonight, but frankly that could be said about a lot of players tonight other than Helly. Treating 27 & 91 differently than the rest of the team isn’t going to get us very far (when other players are also not playing well in said game, like let’s say Pionk among others).

I’ve noticed that when this team plays really well 5v5 Ehlers & Perfetti are key parts of that. I don’t think just stopping to play them is the solution.

I'm not as negative on this game as most. The effort was there, just missing execution and some details. Our stars played well. Have to give Nashville some credit.

Ehlers was terrible. Not just the turnovers. He was flying around like a top playing his own game. He's not going to get anywhere skating in on his own and giving the puck away. He needs to use his teammates.

Pionk was also terrible. I don't blame him. He's just not very good.

Almost as bad as CSV 23.98 xGF% but I'm sure I'll hear all the excuses shortly:naughty:

Candidly, both 27-55-13 & 81-55-13 were bad tonight 5v5. Eye test & analytically speaking. Ehlers didn’t play well tonight, but I think what I don’t understand is the different standards that Bones gives to different players. Has he ever benched 81 this year like he did to Ehlers tonight? Because there were games this year where 81 played terrible too. Neither of those 5v5 combos looked good tonight though, if we’re being candid.

3v3, different story: 81-55 do well in that situation.

I liked Tofolli - Scheifele - Vilardi tonight.

Coaches should have benched kc. Nothing wrong with calling Ehlers out when he plays badly but he is usually one of our best. Coaches decisions don’t always make sense.
