The main thing I enjoyed about Helle was how calm he was. He has such great movement, and even with lots of traffic in front he was so dialled in.

I give the Wild credit they really came out flying in the first period. Also full props to the Jets for turning the tide in the back half of the game.

Seems like we possibly picked up several minor injuries.
Not enough to keep people out of the lineup likely but enough to make it tougher to win.
After Scheifele sat for 2min (when they had the double minor) it seemed like he missed two shifts.
I was worried that he was hurt.

Fortunately he played again.
I wonder what that was about.
Kupari took a shift with his wingers.

Thought we looked slow in the 1st and a bit disorganized but that is likely due to the new defense pairs and as the game went along they got their feet moving and got into really good positions on the ice and slowed the Wilds forecheck down(which is something they didn't do against the Preds).

Outside the Kaprizov line(and it is a hell of a line) they aren't too threating offensively. They play that strategy of getting to the blue line and throwing it on net and crashing 2 guys hard. I felt they were susceptible to counter attacks and we started to get a couple and score on one of them and they held back after that and the game slowed right down

Helly the best, did what the best do and we play our game and win that easily at the end I thought.

Thought Heinola settled in after awhile and drew that penalty on Foligno which lead to the PP goal. Should give him some confidence going forward

Couldn't watch this one as I was too busy livin' it up on the Gold Coast :naughty:

However glad the boys sealed the deal in the 3rd.

On to the next!
Very nice!

I spent 3 months backpacking across Australia in 2000 (after volunteering at the Sydney Olympics). Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, etc. Loved Surfers Paradise and Byron Bay (as a young 20 something lol). So nice there and the people were great.

Vilardi's been taking the draws for a few games so I wonder if something is bugging Scheifele in the hands / wrists / arms, etc.

Scheifele is hurt - he's just playing through it. He didn't take one faceoff last night.

"Hell's No" hardly ever gets rattled. He is always an even keel.

If anyone is moving up for me it would be Kupari. That wicked forecheck and speed would really open some things up for Nik and Spaghetti.

Enjoy your water going the opposite way.
I've been thinking the same thing myself, but where do you move Kupari up to ? replace Names or Perfetti on the second line, or maybe replace Appleton on the 3rd line. One thing for sure is if any of those players got hurt, I think they would move Kupari up in the lineup.

I dunno. Chevy also drafted Heinola and traded for Miller. Chevy re-signed Miller and he's been a fixture in the line-up now that Arniel is the head coach.
Bones should be thanked forever for instilling a positive culture and defensive structure we lost in the final years of the Maurice era.

His evaluations on some players, specifically bottom of the lineup on D... well, no one is perfect.

I'd move him to 2C because of his faceoff ability and I think his aggressive forecheck could really help 27 and 91. Don't get me wrong, I'm probably one of the few that think Namestnikov has been fine up there but I think the wingers need some help. Ehlers is so streaky and Perfetti has looked kind of lost recently.

I was thinking the same thing, and maybe rotating Names and Kupari would be interesting to see what happens. I do like Names tho, as he always hustles hard and back checks. Kupari has tons of speed and handles the puck well, so he could make a lot of zone entries. He's also great on faceoffs, and possession is key. Right now, I wouldn't mess to much with the lineups, but I'd be tempted to try this, especially if that 2nd line is stalling out. Also Perfetti isn't playing up to his ability right now, so I may plug Kupari into his spot, and see what happens.

It’s amusing to read the Wild boards and how they actually believe the Jets are the dirtiest team in the league.

Its incredible isnt it? Theyre like the NHL version of Rider fans. Just clueless dipshits with zero self-awareness. Theyve had dirty pieces of shit like Reaves, Hartman, Middleton, and Foligno for years and WERE the dirty team?!?!? Give your f'ing heads a shake.

I thought Perfetti looked great out there. His play led to goal 2 and 3.

Maybe if 2 Minnesota players didn't try and goon it up on Iafallo they wouldn't have let that goal in, too funny.
Is say it's just desserts.

Also that idiot Hartman interfering with Connor and trying to make it look like an accident

No love for Pionk, though?

This place is funny.

No one said anything bout Pionk someone said that Perfetti hasn't been as good. Pionk was also good on those goals. I also think that it's easier to get excited by a younger player than an older player in a contract year.

Someone said they thought they saw him getting his shoulder worked on the bench during the Preds game I believe.

Pionk and Perfetti were instrumental in both goals. Think Pionk has been great this year. One less point than Morrissey with much less opportunity. He also has been good on pk and pp. Perfetti has been a lot better than you are giving him credit for. If you are only looking at pints I can see what you are saying over the last 10 games but he has created so many grade A’s over that span that didn’t get converted including last night before finally getting rewarded on that pp. He has been great at getting pucks out of his own zone and much better in board battles this year.

Also, one poster said he thought Scheifele maybe hurt his hand or wrist in that fight he had a couple games ago. Would explain why he's not taking faceoffs. He definitely is hurting somewhere, as he doesn't seem quite right. Skating good tho.

I thought Pionk had a great game. Felt like he was in on every single scrum and sharp the whole game. And of course nice set up on the GWG

Yeah I saw that - but he didn't really shy away from contact. He smashed shoulders with someone early in the game and seemed none the worse for wear (maybe it was the other shoulder?). I saw somewhere it was his wrist. It's definitely something if he's not taking any draws...I just hope it can heal while he still plays 18 minutes every night.

I love the fact that our go-ahead goal was partially based on the fact that two Wild players decided to hang back and harass Iafallo.

The trade with LA -- giving them a useless Dubois -- might go down in history as the best we've ever made. Chevy has fleeced a few GMs in the past few years, but getting the Vilardi-Iafallo-Kupari trio plus a draft pick in return for an 8 million dollar paperweight will give the Jets important depth for years to come.

Agreed, outside of period one last night he's been playing real good hockey the last 5 games. He's just not getting rewarded with as many points as his play would indicate. But still pacing 56 points is good for second line usage.

Yes, another poster thought it was his wrist that got hurt a couple games ago in a fight, which makes a lot of sense, as to why he's not taking faceoffs. Something is not right.
