Post-Game Talk: Jets 4 - Coilers 3

In the end, all we can really do right now is hope that the team gets motivated and tightens up for the playoffs. The reality is, this season hinges on whether or not we get into the Western Conference Final. Getting bounced in the first and second round simply isn't good enough. So it's hard to get super excited for games right now. Maybe that's how the guys are feeling? Helley sure looks like that

Missing Pionk is a factor for sure. Partly because of jomo ice time and Pionk's offense.

DeMelo seems banged up. Namestikov was pulled. Appleton looks hurt. Maybe time to rotate some guys in, Kupari 4C, Barron replace apple,

Give salo a game on RD 3rd pair. Give Lambert a game if Names is hurt.

Rest helle a bit. The season load is starting to show.
Im still down for resting names or apples for a few games

Ehlers lowry iafallo
Tanev barron perfetti
Nino gus kupari

The Oilers loser fans are complaining about Morrissey knocking McDavid out. Cricket's on the dirty hit to Names' head.
McDavid on Monday did not skate and was questionable for the Jets game.
Reports today "lower body injury" ... Morrissey's hit was in the arm area.
The hit was not even that hard plus McDavid was holding Morrissey's stick.

Maybe move Perfetti to the 1st PP for a game or 2 to see if that gets it going again.
Perfetti has been hot lately, but, for who? Schief, Ehlers, Connor? Villardi is the only physical player on our pp who is willing to screen the goalie. I wouldn't want Perfetti taking the abuse.

It would have to be for Ehlers as that is the person who's role he's taken each time he's been on the top unit this year.

But I'd probably just start with working with both units in practice this and next week. We have a number of days off so should get a lot of practice time in. If that doesn't work then sure make the swap.

The pp was alot more stagnant when Perfetti was in that role. So, I just don't see any swaps possible with the pp only small wrinkles. I would look at replacing Schief, but, that would be horrible for the team dynamics.

We know the Jets play lately has been subpar but they are not the only ones. Its tough this time of season for the top teams to go 100% every game with the playoffs right around the corner.
DeBoer not happy with his teams play ... only the 4th line and goalie played good. Sound familiar?

Jets need a good homestand. At least 6 points out of 8, hopefully more. Because that L.A, Vegas, Utah road trip could take its toll on the Jets, those are all teams that can play mean and physical when the Jets aren't playing that way as much beyond the 4th line and Schenn.. Dallas has a relatively easy schedule down the stretch. Don't want them to be in striking distance when the two teams meet in Dallas on the 10th of April. Jets have St. Louis at home between the road trip and that game.

Yeah that isn't happening. He just needs to start moving around more.

Feels like we’ve been a great 3 on 3 team for years now. Since Maurice was a new coach for us type of time ago.

*The NHL records page for OT uses Win% but it's kind of deceptive, because Atlanta only played a few seasons before ties were eliminated (beginning with the introduction of the shootout in 2005-06). So older franchises have records like the Rangers: 271-248-322...271 wins out of 841 OT games played = a win percentage of .322. Suck it, Rags!

But the Thrashers didn't have a bad OT record, surprisingly. If you divide those ties into shootout 50-50 coin flips, they have been maybe 111-101 = .524. Anyway, I'm not doing that for the entire NHL OT records list.

Obviously, fewer games go to shootouts now. In the four seasons from 2011-2014 the Jets played in 40 shootouts (with a 20-19 record), and in the 9 seasons since 3v3 was introduced, they've played just 37 (19-18).

Jets magic number is 9 now. Any combo of Jets wins or Stars regulation losses that total 9 clinches 1st for the Jets.
I agree if the Jets can win 3 of 4 on this home stand they basically have clinched 1st and then they can rest some players down the stretch or at least cut their minutes.

So take the only guy moving his feet off pp1..

Speaking of hits ... who thinks Skinner was trying to draw a penalty lying on the ice after this bump?

Definitely - but I was surprised the refs didn't blow the whistle when he was lying on the ice for quite a while there. Even the Jets seemed to be looking around a bit wondering if there was going to be a whistle.

Some people really need to stop with the Twitter shit, I get it some think they have something to say but when your eyes see what you want them to see but you're dead wrong you look like a fool
