Stan can't be taking multiple penalties a game.
Feels like a large % of our team all have monkeys on their backs.
It's an infestation!

Interestingly he was the underlying metrics star of the game. CF% 59.46%, HDCF% 75.00% and a team leading xGF% of 80.15%.
He really wasn't bad - I liked his aggressiveness, made some good plays. The first penalty was dumb but again I don't mind a little meanness in the lineup. The second penalty was bullshit.

Problem with Stanley is the history and how he's blocked players that should have been playing before him. Unless he magically becomes a beast he won't be given any latitude or even praise when he makes a good play.

I think he's actually a fine 7th defenseman - though I'd rather have Capo in his spot.

Ridiculous that their arguing that Rielly should get less games cause it will be his first suspension... What about Sheifele's play-off suspension??? Rielly better get at least 5 games
Or Dillon? No suspensions and unintentional contact with the head on a hockey play.

If it's fair Reilly should get at least 5 but we all know there's no rhyme or reason to this shit.

Apart from 2 penalties and a bad give away I didn't think that Tree was that bad tonight
Yup. One of the penalties was shit and every one of our defensemen give the puck away but somehow Stanley gets no room for error around here.

The fact it was his second game in forever I give him kudos for being ready to play.

Surprised that the underlying numbers don't shine favourably on Namestnikov and Barron, thought they played really well.
Especially Names. He was a f***ing buzzsaw. There's a pro who knows how to get himself going.

If you're struggling to create offense just skate balls to the wall and get your nose dirty.

Agreed. I'd Like to see Perfetti given a shot with Scheifele and Ehlers. The kid needs some line drivers to play with to get him producing again.
He needs to get moving again. His lack of confidence has gone right to his feet and hands.

Apparently had our best game score, which apparently is a useless one-game stat.
Stats are always used to tell the story the poster wants to tell :)

It’s interesting as it’s all about perception. If ehlers had scored on the breakaway KFC created for him I don’t think we would even be discussing this. KFC looked like he was the fastest player in on the forecheck.
Yeah I thought he was pretty good last night.

I didn't see the whole game so I'm curious, who was the worst? By my eye it was Pionk but again I didn't really see much of the first 2 periods.
Pionk deffo struggled. Schmidt wasn't great either, we're really not seeing much of the offensive defenseman he's touted to be.

Have you even looked at the updated standings?
If the Jets can go on a mini heater we will could easily surpass them again.
Even for me your comment has quite negative outlook.
I amnot trying to be negative rather realistic.
I know jets have games in hand but I am concerned about their game and
They have MacKinnon.

Cheers to this win being the beginning of the road back to the top of the Central again (at the very least).

We caugh up to and surpassed them before. It's completely doable that they do it again............ if they put in the appropriate effort that is.
Agreed it is not impossible but I am just concerned. Lets see how the San Jose game goes...

You think it's realistic that the Jets can't make up 1 point in nearly half a season with 3 games in hand? C'mon.

It's insane to me that if the Oilers win their games in hand on the Jets they would be one point back.

They're still not built for the playoffs but that's pretty crazy.

Honestly don't care whether it's Stanley or Schmidt who comes out. Either one works for me. Just gotta get Heinola in the lineup. There is a 100% chance PP2 gets better with Heinola on it. That alone is enough to justify finding a spot in the lineup. If it means losing Toninato then so be it.

Colorado also lost...

Extra icing on the cake...

I know the sky has been falling in Winnipeg for a while but last 10 games Winnipeg 4-5-1 last 10 games Colorado 4-5-1

Its a long season and there are bound to be ebbs and flows.

Edit: catching up on this thread and noticed @bustamente just dropped the same 10 game sample size as me. I wonder if I get flagged for the piling on penalty?
