Please enlighten me as to exactly what in that post constitutes "complaining"A little hypocritical. Complaining about people who voice an opinion you disagree with.

yesterday's performance from that line was fantastic. idk how many games a line has generated 27 CF or 15 Shots-For. Definitely more to gain from that performance than vs VAN, which was a done deal after the 1st period.Definitely a small sample against weak opponents on a relatively restful home stand...but encouraging signs.
Congrats to Smoke on the GWG in game 600. Keeping the good times rolling.
Can't mess with that 2nd line right now. Everything about it works. Speed. Ehlers being able to control the perimeter. Size. Lowry wins the battles. Smarts. Iafallo has a nose for the net, and that's what makes him more effective than Appleton on that line.
In a one goal game special teams is the difference. The puck movement on the PP is such a beauty to watch.
Seattle's a tough opponent for the Jets.
Good call to start Hellebuyck. 2 points richer for it.
Typical Jets move would be putting Apple back with Lowry and Nino but I think the current configuration has been too good to ignore. Don't see any reason why Appleton and Namestnikov can't take Gustafsson and Toninato's spots. Maybe swap Vladdy and Kupari but I think we stick with the top six as it is.
when does apples come back?I think it is hard to say at this point which of Apples or Iafallo would be better on that line. I like the way AI has played there. I also liked Appleton on the 3rd line.
I would be inclined to leave it as is for a while. Get a bigger sample of those 3 working together. But I wouldn't rule out swapping Iafallo and Appleton after a few more games. Would certainly light a fire under Apples. mmmmmm baked apples.
He took a hard hit. Arniel said he was fine in the post game presser. I haven't heard anything since then.someone on twitter mentioned scheifele was labouring yesterday close to the end, did anyone provide an update?
It's totally fair to bring this up. Arniel stuck with it thick and thin, and that patience is paying dividends. Lots of us were wrong on stocking with this line, me as much as anyone.I'm talking about when all the Statsnerds were blasting every thread last season about how we couldn't win with CSV as a line, but point taken
idk why people can't accept multiple things being trueYour top line starting the year with trash shot metrics and 2-9 in GF (after being absolutely garbage across all the shot metrics and rocking a 46% goal share last season) was probably worth complaining about, even with a winning record.
But since that rough start, their shot metrics are vastly improved (they are outright dominating in the high danger areas) and have a 66% goal share.
People should check their crystal balls before they complain, I guess...
when does apples come back?
Its not just that Arniel stuck with them, but had a vision on what that line can be if they played the way he wanted them to play. Arniel talks over and over again about being on the right side of the play and we see that consistently from that line. Their improved play is coming first from improved defense which has carried over to improved offense. It's totally fair to bring this up. Yeah no doubt. It shows too, they're defensive chance stats as a line are much more in line with the rest of the team. Without losing any offense. Its not just that Arniel stuck with them, but had a vision on what that line can be if they played the way he wanted them to play. I think part of it is that the coaching staff for two seasons in a row saw a reason to keep that line together that might not have been apparent to posters on here. It's that refusal.to acknowledge that people close to the team have info that we aren't privy to that I DO complain aboutidk why people can't accept multiple things being true
CSV has been v good this year, and they were not good or near this level last year.
Really, I can’t blame the ppl who didn’t believe in line as I’m sure every coach has tried to convince kc to play better d so why did it finally click. Its not just that Arniel stuck with them, but had a vision on what that line can be if they played the way he wanted them to play. Can't believe we're in 1st. Never saw it coming.
Shouldn't be much for me to complain about, lol.
I do hope they acquire a D and a forward before the deadline.
yup. after 2017-2018, using KC as a reference point, they've been pretty marginal in terms of GF and GA (with predominantly Helle in net), with a tendency for high chances against. this year has definitely bucked that trend. but the observations and criticisms from 2018-2023 were warranted.Really, I can’t blame the ppl who didn’t believe in line as I’m sure every coach has tried to convince kc to play better d so why did it finally click.
The flip side is adding the wrong guys and messing with team chemistry . I agree one good second line winger or center would definitely help but i wouldn't do much more.I hear what your saying and can see the validity in it.
My concern is standing pat because things are looking good now, we are at the top of the league and we are leading the league in goals.
Last season, many "experts" in the media and on here, predicted the Jets best matchup in the playoffs was the Avs. We were "looking good" going into playoffs. We saw what happened. Our low GAA was destroyed, our D was walked and we did not have an answer to the Avs attack.
The majority of our scoring has come from our top line. For sure, opponents will slow them down come playoffs.
We have had many games where we don't score alot of goals. We then have a bunch of games where we pile on with 5 or more goals, many times against teams at the end of a road trip or weaker teams. My concern is when we face a tough opponent come playoffs who score 3 or more, we will depend on our top line to do the majority of scoring.
I would be in favour of giving up some future if we could acquire a top 6 experienced forward with 2-3 years of term. And also acquiring a bigger, experienced D on the back end.
Whatever they do they can’t add slower guys again. The flip side is adding the wrong guys and messing with team chemistry . I agree one good second line winger or center would definitely help but i wouldn't do much more.
I agree. A talented forward or two might be smartest move.
My concern with the bolded is, why did we have to go through multiple seasons of the first line (or at least Connor and Scheifele together — Gabe was new last season) getting caved in? Because the coaching staff knew that, eventually, down the line, they would perform as they are now?I think part of it is that the coaching staff for two seasons in a row saw a reason to keep that line together that might not have been apparent to posters on here. It's that refusal.to acknowledge that people close to the team have info that we aren't privy to that I DO complain about
I wonder how many of us have even watched a single Jets practice, let alone been on the ice for every single one. Chemistry between players can start to emerge there before it shows up in games... as well as lack of chemistry. Not to mention attitudes, work ethic, etc
To some degree I think there's a bit of that with Stan, too... which might even extend into the locker room and how he fits with the core. Wouldn't surprise me if TNSE would sacrifice a little on ice performance for a happy room since we've seen what a splintered room can do to overall team performance
I don’t really have too much of an opinion on Draisaitl, he just seems a little bland. What makes him so unlikable? (Or is it just him being a star player on a very unlikable team?)I think what was missing on that line was some heavy forechecking, wall work an net front presence.
I think the line was ok when Namestnikov was healthy - that guy is a gamer, but it obviously took it's toll on him. He was getting the shit beat out of him regularly and I just think before he was finally scratched he was barely able to play.
I just don't know what to do with Perfetti at this point. I think he's really honed some of his defensive skill and you can see the offensive chops are still there, but I think both he and Ehlers need to be on a line that compliment their abilities. I think they both need more heavy presences that can cycle, dig and get to the net.
At some point he's going to have to find a way to convert posts and passes to points in a consistent way. It's not all his fault, but if you want to be an effective top 6 winger on a contending team, you can't go cold for dozens of games at a time.
Do you drive THE ACCORD?
Leon Draisaitl is such an unlikeable guy.
My take is you don't convince anyone to do anything, but you share your vision on what can be and ask them to buy in. All good offensive players can be good defensively if they apply themselves to it. It really clicks in when they do it and the offense still comes.Really, I can’t blame the ppl who didn’t believe in line as I’m sure every coach has tried to convince kc to play better d so why did it finally click.

He is a arrogant ass and so are alot of their fans .I don’t really have too much of an opinion on Draisaitl, he just seems a little bland. What makes him so unlikable? (Or is it just him being a star player on a very unlikable team?)
