There’s at least 4 Isles players whose spot i’d rather try with Pulju. Which is more of an indictment of the Isles than anything.

Minnesota needs help in bottom 6 scoring. And as far as him not being a penalty killer. The way Minnesotas PK is going, he’d fit right in…

I was on team JP from the start and defended him. I'm done.lol he's a fantastic human with a great smile and a very big strong body. As a hockey player, he's just not the brightest.

I was even the guy pointing out the fancy stats when he wasn't gettting actual points.

If he had learned to be a PKer he'd be an elite bottom 6 guy. Hope my OIl aren't consdiering it. Hope he does continue in NHL though.. I really do like him.

He doesn't. I just hate false narratives blaming coaches and the Oilers development for his low hockey IQ.
Not to mention entitlement and hip issues.

Like Yakupov bust before him, JP needs only to look in the mirror as to why he’s not an NHL player. Oh he can look at this dumbass agent too who wouldn’t allow JP to readjust his game for a PK/Bottom 6 role and instead tried to force feed him as a Top 6 player.

Why is picking up the Pens trash funny? Am I missing something here?
Since you both follow the CBJ, I imagine he meant picking up the player who CBJ chose NOT to take and instead took PLD at #3 in the 2016 draft? That would be picks #2, #3 and #4 who would then have played for the Jackets (Laine, PLD, Pulju). It'd be a bit funny, not sure funniest ever but noteworthy anyway.

Feels like this could be the end of Pulju in the NHL. I wonder if some low-pressure market could still work for him, maybe with another Finn so he would have some language help (he still can't speak English well, I don't understand how his people didn't prioritize this when he was rehabbing the hips). He looked intriguing this season from my limited viewing and some highlights but I think he needs a very specific set of circumstances to make it work. It didn't work in Carolina with Aho (felt like it was oh so close in some of the early games but just not consistent and fumbled the puck too much). Experimenting with Laine would be fun but I doubt Montreal wants to mess with what seems to be working better as of late. Avs and Stars seem like longshots but would have the support system in place I guess...

Sharks w/ Granlund would be fun but Granny seems to be playing pretty high in the lineup now so maybe don't want to mess with the true prospects there. Utah 2nd/3rd line w/ Maccelli? That's my fantasy GM move.

He’s hit the flip a coin stage. Where a contender with some injuries might take a look for a couple of weeks, or a team at the bottom of the standings, could use another placeholder to play over a kid who needs some more time in the AHL.

Yep, flip a coin. Could be Tampa, could be SJ, could be nobody.

I haven't watched Puljujarvi since he left the Oilers but his biggest problem is sometimes he plays really well and the rest of the time he does absolutely nothing, like AHL level player absolutely nothing. There is not enough in between with him. If he ever improved his consistency and played with more urgency and focus, he would be a solid player. Not sure if that has changed much or not.

He reminds me of Kapanen (who has also played for EDM and PIT). I guess Kapanen is a little better, but he also seems to disappear for stretches. Or at least that was the case when he was a Leaf and I assume later on in his career as well.

I don’t think hes that bad but coaches don’t seem to like him much. I think he’s too much of a rover/space cowboy for them.

He looked good early in the year. Much better than last year and looked healthy. Not a big deal either way but he should have been playing. Still think he can be useful somewhere.

He's not a perfect player and I do come from his camp, but this doghouse treatment by Sullivan was one of the strangest things I've seen.

At that time his points/60 was the 2nd (and then for a longer while 3rd) best of the team and a lot of Pittsburgh fans felt very positive about him after each game. Then just like that he was healthy scratched constantly and occasionally given low minutes in bottom 6 lines with public instructions to concentrate on the defensive game.

He's scored two goals in his five last games in bottom6 with a low usage so I am suprised if he isn't picked. Earlier he wasn't consistent enough, obviously partly due to hip problems, but he had an excellent stretch of 1,5 years when he scored ES goals at the 2nd best rate in the Oilers so there should be some potential if and now when he's healthy.

He just needs to get into the same team and line as Laine and Aho. I posted this on the Habs board just a minute ago:

Pulju is the next Lindros if that happens. Aho would be the next Gretzky. Laine would be Laine. Its a tad risky though, if e.g. Laine gets injured then Pulju will just be just shit again.

Unfortunately he is kinda stupid, on and off the ice.
But he is a really nice person, unfortunately on the ice, too.
If he was a little smarter, he would at least use his body.
It was not the smartest idea to drop out of school to concentrate on hockey before he learned some English.
Fun fact: born in Sweden, grown up in Finland, playing in North America but yet he doesn‘t speak any of those languages properly.
I think Montréal (and another language he cannot speak) would either melt his brain or just tighten the correct screws…but the Habs should stay away from him.

Hah. The Aho-Pool revival experiment already tried and failed. Laine standing around and waiting for one tees ain’t changing that.
