Name one reason the demand wasn't made in private with Holland, and thereby respecting the org that drafted him, believed in him, gave him a chance..
You can't.
People rail against selfish player/agent directed moves like this because they are clear subterfuge. They serve zero benefit and respect to the org. They are unhelpful to all parties. The net effect is indiscretions like this vastly limit the amount of potential partners that could even be found, for a young player that engages in a move toxic as this. How many other GM's would be wondering about problem attitude at this point? When several hockey pundits (not just Oilers connected) have already surmised this.
Jmo that Pulju pulled a worse than Lindros type move here. He not only is stating refusing to play here, he wasted years of the orgs time here occupying a spot, and doing nothing with it. As bad as it is to consider what Pulju has done is arguably worse than if he had never shown up at all. I mean for all he's contributed, other than unintended comedy.
You said they weren’t as stupid as some of us think, there is nothing JP and his agent are doing that even resembles anything but stupid.Yeah I should clarify that I think they're stupid, but this sounds like a desperation ploy and that they actually realize his NHL career is fading (here or elsewhere). He stays here another year and can't hack it, he's done. He goes somewhere else and can't, he'll probably have another shot and more money in the bank.
Pretty sure the other players on the team aren’t as petty as the fans here. This makes one or two times where Jesse has been interviewed and has answered the questions politely.
That, to me, is going to be the road block.
In three seasons, Pulju hasn't shown even a glimpse of willingness to change his game.

Pulju will get traded to an east coast team this month, and have a breakthru season. Keep this post in mind

Oilers qualified him no?I've seen it suggested that the comments were taken slightly out of context as a result of poor translation. Some have said that he actually meant that while he'd prefer a fresh start, he's willing to play anywhere in NHL if offered a contract. As in, he'd still play for the Oilers if he was given a contract.

Who translated wrongly? At least I translated exactly how it was written in a newspaper. Not every writer is some kind of a stupid redneck who doesn't understand what is written in newspapers.Anyone know Finnish here, see some claiming Jesse's quote was translated wrong.

I think Tippett is a guy who might be able to get over that hurdle and change Jesse's perspective a little bit.
Years ago I had the privilege of having a brief conversation with Dave Tippett and at the time, I was coaching young players myself I just asked him if there was any advice he would give to a young coach. What he told me is that to be successful I had to coach individuals and not just a team. That I could write up plays and run drills and watch video all day long but that if I wasn't paying attention to individuals and the details in their games then I'd never get the most out of my team. He said the first step is always understanding how to teach individuals. Everybody is different we learn and understand in different ways and the first step is understanding how a player learns best, is it by watching video, is by constant repetition, is it by breaking complex ideas down into smaller more manageable blocks.
The other thing I liked about Tippett and how I think it relates to Jesse is I remember once reading an interview, he spoke about every player that the organization brings has been carefully considered for a role based on what at they've seen from that player. He called it the three T's and he said they get a player and they (T)rain them for a specific role. If after awhile a player is deemed as unable to fill that role they (T)ry him in a different role to see if he can adapt and find success and then Tippett said if that doesn't work they (T)rade the player. I wish I could find the article as I can't remember the exact quote but that was the gist of it.
What kind of moderator are you writing posts like these and adding fuel to the fire?Enjoy Europe or blaming everyone else for your continued failures in your new NHL city you gigantic waste of a lottery pick
Yes, and hypothetically he could still accept a contract around 870K-1 million. Not that it's likely, I've just heard Finnish speakers say that he's not definitively saying he won't play for the Oilers this year.
