I don’t really care that Pulju got scratched. Feels like Zohorna complaints all over again.

Honestly more annoyed about Puustinen.
I agree, and every addition of a Glass/Lizotte/Acciari homoculus/whatever other bullshit this org decides to add to the roster just holds back Puusti's progress more.

Puusti is the real waste of a guy who could actually blossom into a bonified top-9 guy but it's hard to really care anymore.

When injuries strike, yea sure Pool Party can be a decent plug for the top-9 in a pinch. But there's no need to cry over him not playing as he will not be a difference maker.

I'd say Jesse was a difference maker against the Habs, and has been getting better game by game. Hard to understand why he was benched and would be amazed if Sullivan continues to do it after this game.
You don’t understand Mike then. He doesn’t care. If he’s held off the scoresheet next game, he’ll be on a short leash for the one after. A very short leash if they’re losing. Like he’s a bad 2 minute minor away from being scratched.

If he wants to solidify himself, he’ll have to put up a 40 point pace for the rest of the season at least. He’s a Euro and hasn’t played enough games to be considered a “vet” by Mike Sullivan standards.

This is just how it is.

He's played very well, if this keeps up I hope we keep him, he's a steal at that cap hit. Even if we up it a bit he's great value. Early on he and Geno are much better with their speed through the neutral zone.

When healthy and at his best Puljujarvi was productive and looked like a true 1st rounder already in the Oilers. One good season and two good half seasons that was.

I think he's reaching that level again now, hopefully even more, which should inevitably lead for him to lock a roster spot and at some point give him a look with Crosby. So far their couple of shifts in the same line have been productive so I believe at some point Crosby will want to try him if things don't click with other players.

Of course Puljujarvi will need to keep this level and on the other hand him and Eller seem to form a good pair. Early but promising.

Nice goal by Jesse, but he did fall down a lot in this game. Nice to see him get rewarded with some PP time.

Puustinen lacks confidence and the potential for confidence to ever become a good NHLer he is the guy to pass two times on consecutive shootout attempts.

He’s a natural RW right? I would love to see him in the top 6.

According to edge he’s our fastest skater by far in the 96 percentile.

how long until hes a fixture in the top 6? guessing 15 more games

He might work with Malkin but I think Crosby would kill him in about 5 seconds with them being on the same line

He's perfect as a 3rd line driver, that's the exact role he should be playing in. Obviously the play styles are very different, but Puljujarvi is in that Kessel group of being a better line driver than complementary winger. He's stylistically similar to Staal in that he uses his size and just leans on players to dominate possession. If you put him with Crosby or Malkin, he wouldn't be able to do that as effectively just because Crosby and Malkin would have the puck way more than him.

I think this sums it up well. Let him fill in when needed. But generally if you get him going, change as little as possible.
