98 is a pretty gross number. It's also awkward how his number is sandwiched between McDavid and Gretz.

Stoked! But still, not to be a butt, but he didn't really do much at all.

If he does nothing except snipe 1 goal per game, I guess he can stay :)

Good for him getting that one out of the way. For sure though, kid needs to take some major steps still for it to make sense for him to stick past 9 games and burn that ELC year.

Does the ELC thing matter since hes not a junior player?

I dont agree with rushing him either but he made a lot of smart plays and knew where to go on the ice. A gamer for sure.

It's his birth year, not a big deal. McDavid and RNH wear their birth years too so do like 20 other players.

Same rules apply for hs first year i believe. William Nylander is a recent example of a kid from a europe league that played in the ahl first year and his ELC had a slide to start this season instead.

He was fine, but got only 8 minutes on even strength. Had a lot of power play time but didn't get a good chance to shoot even once (well, except you know, the one I guess). So far it's a very sheltered role, hopefully he won't be stuck at those 5on5 minutes for long.

#98 is an ugly ass number but 9 + 8 = 17 = Kurri = illuminati confirmed

Also #9 and #8 used to be his numbers on his club teams in Finland. Plus '98 is his birth year. The number actually makes a lot of sense.

I would have preferred him to wear another number but at least it's better than the generic 39.

Sorry. Typo'd it. Point still stands.

Change numbers when you've established yourself, kid.

Don't come onto the stage between Gretzky and McDavid. :shakehead

Are you serious? McDavid picked up his number from his birth year. So did Puljujärvi. I think it's the lamest way to pick a number to play, but still people do it. It has nothing to do with McDavid or Gretzky.

Sort of lame to be born the year after McDavid and just before 99. Unclassy tbh.

Nice release tho.
