Shocking. Really? Are you really shocked at the fact that another Dman was chosen over a pylon? Tell me, are you really this shocked after witnessing his horrendous play during the last few weeks that ended up costing us games?

You guys are overreacting.

Holzer will be with the Leafs in due time, but right now they are trying to assess all of the players that are close to NHL ready.

Holzer had his chance but clearly need him to keep working on his game.

This doesn't mean he's done nor does it mean he won't ever a Leafs jersey ever again.

Heck he'll probably be back sometime this season. Right now though, Blacker will get his chance while Holzer keeps trying to find what made him so good at the AHL level.

He got valuable experience and knows what he should work on. I think he will be back some day.

Even if he doesn't play while he's called up this time, this move is nice to see. It gives him a taste of the NHL routines and is a nod to him that the Leafs are happy with his development so far. In no way do I see this as a slight to Holzer who needs playing time right now more than sitting as a reserve.

Little off-topic note; Blacker and Seguin are close friends. Not sure where that started but they are pretty close.

The whole point of sending Holzer down was so that he could get some more playing time and get his confidence down. Having him sit in the press box as a 7th defenseman wouldn't do him any good.

This is just a bit of a reward to Blacker for his play this year; gets to practice and travel with the big team and maybe see a game or two of action (depending on how long Liles is out for).
