that's a yeah, not a not

Klein = mid 1st, esp since he is RD on sweet contract
missing link Oil want

Lindberg + Fast contribute NOW as 3rd liners with some upside
gives Oil depth

Yakimov is interesting but totally green, and in KHL right now anyway
Yakupov is pre-bust, a throw in, a project for cap balance more than anything else, the fact you couldn't get a 3rd for him at the draft is proof and if not expiring NY does not want

Yeah, you'll cough up your first for 3 solid immediate adds

Yes, more depth forwards which the oilers do not need, and a #5 defense which the oilers have an abundance of.

Do you ever think of the other team when you make your terrible proposals.

I'm surprised theres no Marc Staal in this proposal, cause the oilers could use 2 RD!

Boston. Sucks.
True
But losing Hrivik or Jensen on waivers will sting a little bit more IMO
There may be some deals going down though
Time will tell

Agreed, I wouldn't want to lose either on waivers. I'm really rooting for Hrivik to make the team, even if it's as the spare forward for now.

Getting rid of Glass would help with our glut of 4th liners (and overstock on Tanner Glasses, which automatically is the case for any team with exactly 1 Tanner Glass).

agreed, unless Oil do:

Klein, Lindberg + Fast
for
EDM 1st, Yakupov + Yakimov
sublime...

Yeah or not from the oilers, Maybe if you drop the 1st.

Which they quite obviously do not...
ambiguous -- why, given the explanation....

a) tell me about all these new additions, tell me all the Fs on your team who are better than Lindberg/Fast. Especially since a top LW (Hall) was traded.
b) Klein is more than a #5 D. He is at MIN a second pair RD - RDs in general commanding more due to scarcity of righties. He DEMONSTRATED substantial time at 1RD due to injury for NY, and was fine. On top of that, 2 years on a cheap contract! Only willing to trade cause of need to adjust the roster and potential cap, etc issues with futures. He gets a mid round 1st all by himself EASY. Two more throw ins each worth a 3rd or better bumps it higher. If you really want to get out of the lottery year after year - which your success is mixed unless it is a can't miss guy --- you make a deal like this. At worst you get a year out of him, helping to stabilize your team, you likely pay him reasonable and he stays, but fall back is you flip him as a rental in that second year, and a team w/injury that is contending is still likely to pay a first for him then. Of course you have to think a little outside the box. Can you do that, and be objective?

Do you ever think of the other team when you make your terrible proposals.
All the time. Sometimes I am guilty of overreach, sometimes other posters have the shoe on the other foot. I stand by my comments, errors nothwithstanding.

I doubt Marc Staal would waive his NMC to go; if you get him to waive, we can talk!

As an Oiler fan you have good points but Klein is more then a number 5 D . He probably a # 3 or 4 and would set up our d , mind you I rather a offensive 2nd pairing RHD but if we can't get that better to have solid defenders to keep the puck out of our own net .

Klefbom Larsson
Sekera Klein
Davidson Fayne
Oesterle

Looks like a legit NHL D . Dump Fayne next off season and replace him with a good PMRHD and we final have a D that can win us games when the O is not going . The 1st RD pick I don't mind adding to a deal not sure this is the one or the year we should do it yet . Point being Klein would help a lot and is better then you said . Having said that Fayne is a similar D to Klein when he is on like in NJ . He was out of shape last year coming into camp . This year accounting to reports he has worked out hard and is coming into camp in great shape so it may be better to wait but we could always use an extra RHD

We would need a great return to deal Fast. Think 2nd round pick. Great two way player who has taken strides offensively and is loved by coaches.

Thanks for the honest 2cents would be surprised if Fayne did big rebound -- small improve, sure, but major turnaround, show me.

Speaking of show me, I asked, and did not get an answer, who are all these great stud Fs Oil now has, such that Lindberg and Fast are not a productive add, especially with Hall gone.

for me, the deal is the 1st and Yaki as a project down the road. Yaku is a cap dump. If you can offer me acceptable alternate, you can keep him.

I think San Jose would need a player like Fast and 2nd rounder would be right price. I think San Jose is lacking depth and in Finals they couldn't roll 4 lines. And I'm not sold on Goldobin and I think Wingels is useless.
