Olympics: Jerseys (Part II)

The Russian red is definitely an eyesore. The blue shoulders need to be smaller and have some sort of trim seperating them from the rest of the jersey, the lack of transition between the colours makes the final product look cheap and amateurish.

But seriously, Why is Canada sporting black? I'd understand if it was black details but 90% of the jersey?

In terms of fans buying jerseys, the black 3rd appears to be the overwhelming favourite - they are everywhere.

Here is my Bergeron that came in last week. Camera on my phone is really bad.

prolly to better distinguish the team from the 5 other teams who predominantly wear red.

the austrians looked like they were team canada from 2010 wearing those white jerseys.

canada may wear black again should they play austria, switzerland, russia, or czech republic.

Really looking for a site to get a customized team USA jersey. If not a site can anyone tell how they got theirs customized? Thanks in advance

I really like the white jersey of the czech republique. It's very classical, almsot a throwback jersey to the days of the Bohemian national teams. If it had no blue at all it would be perfect. (Blue doesn't really belong into the czech flag since 1993, anyway.)

Digging the White Russian jersey from today's game vs. the US. Might have to get a Geno. Would also like a Maatta Finland though they aren't good imo. Maybe I'm late to the game, but why does it seem so difficult to buy a jersey that is not US or Canada? Is it because I'm in the US? Are they waiting till after the Olympics are over to start producing them? I've found the red Russian jersey but it doesn't seem to be customizable. Buying official Olympic merchandise, seems reasonable. Maybe not?

Slovenia's jersey looks like something bought from a tourist shop.

Still haven't seen the Finland blues, Swiss whites, or Czech "reds" in game action yet.

I thought, despite the horrendous showing of Slovakia, their whites are pretty sharp. The design is essentially the same as the US, but the navy helmets look better with the navy shoulders. I don't know how Slovakian fans feel, but the darker blue looks much better IMO.

The "white" Russian jerseys were nice.

Nearly all the jerseys look really, really nice. The shinny stuff on the shoulders is totally superfluous, as are the fake laces, but they look great on TV.

I used to think that the "fake laces" were stupid.

But the fake laces, and shoulder designs apparently serve a purpose. It's called Flywire Technology. It prevents the jersey from slipping, as well as reinforces it.

With that in mind, I don't think it looks that bad. I like the actual designs on the shoulders.

Perhaps this is predictable but like many, I absolutely lambasted many of the jerseys when they were released. But now that I've seen a few games, the majority look quite good.

Prevents it from slipping? Slipping how? I didn't know jersey slippage was a problem. And what exactly does it reinforce? Were sweaters just falling apart at the seams previous?

Anyway, USA broke out their 2010 throwback uniforms today. I had no idea teams could deviate from their Sochi designed uniforms.

the slipping is inside, when the pads get wet. most of the new undergarments all have some type of rubberized stuff on them to help prevent the pads from sliding. shoulder pads aren't a big deal. when the elbow pads slide though that causes more comfort/control problems. the elbow pads are what will slide more than anything.

but....this is all underneath the jersey, so im not sure how external flywire technology is going to help this.

personally i just think they are accents on the jerseys and serve nothing more than cosmetics. the only ones that looked good are the Swedes with the ship on the shoulders

These jerseys are SO much better in action. I hated them when they were being released, but I really like most of them now. Love these Russian ones:

Team USA Throwback jersey

I was watching the Slovenia vs. USA game and I fell in love with the USA's jerseys. I've seen them a lot before but after yesterday I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get an authentic T.J. Oshie one? Or just the throwback itself, no name.
