I'm not trying to start a Burmi vs Jokinen debate, it's just a reference that needs clarification.

Early on this season Burmi was quite often one of if not THE best Jets forward on the ice, now he has a few gaffes and gets completely demoted. And yet compared to Olli Jokinen who has been given every opportunity to succeed by being given a shot on almost every line. Playing both forward and defensive roles on the power play and never having his minutes reduced, all while not making much of any consistent contributions to this team and seeing no punishments or demotions....

and I ask my god why.

players other than Burmi definitely deserve to be benched. For some reason 8 has the shortest leash.

Noel pissed

We keep hearing Noel being pissed, ripping into the team, ripping a specific players head off, ect. all the time. Overall, it does nothing to improve this team.

I hear about it occuring, but I don't see any positive results going forward.

I always forget why we never win any shootouts, but that's just because we don't get to see enough. Uhh, yeah. Wheeler's move was pretty nice, but why put out two straight line shooters? Meh. Definitely not going to get any help there from Scheiffle, what I've seen from him looks pathetic like a Sedin.

Oh well, might be good that it wasn't a win, if it was a win we'd probably get the lazy jets back in mts, time to bring home the angry jets and get some home wins ffs. *hopeless optimist*

One theory could be that Noel has high expectations of the kid, so in turn he's hard on him. Just a thought maybe. It's ok as long as Burmi understands that. Has to be good communication.

I think we all want to see the "Angry Jets" coming home.

Noel was obviously benching Burmi... he had sokme extra jump the shift after sitting and then fizzled again. Jokinen is pulling his weight defensively and perhaps in the dressing room... but he's missing tons of O chances and has to be taken of the point for the PP.

Wellwood should have shot in the shootout.
Ladd and Kane are our best scorers but there not really "moves" guys.
Wheeler has scored on most of his chances so obviously him.
Today Wellwood deserved the chance... he would have deked Hedberg out of his net. I'd actually like to see Big Buff in the shoot out.

Lastly have we ever turned the puck over more by passing / shooting it into defenders skates / shins / legs?

Look at our record lately and you will see positive results.

I'm going with this theory...just showing some tough love :)

For me personally, it's really won't get us any further this year than last. We will miss the playoff yet again. Thankfully, that is what I expected.

Next year I want to see Winnipeg Jets playoff action, no excuses.

I think this team is in good shape. We collected 5 out of 8 points on the road to leave us 2 back of the rangers, 3 back of the devils, 4 back of Ottawa and only 5 back of 5th placed Toronto. We play Toronto twice, and the sens and the rangers once in the next week, so the next week will say a lot about this team IMO. Very happy to get a point out of this game.

OJ was brutal. I didn't think Wheeler had a very good game either.

Holy crap its infuriating when we get stuck in our end and we can't find a way to get the puck over the blue line. I swear to god we couldn't bounce pucks off opponents at the line and right back into our end more often if we intentionally tried to (actually that applies anywhere on the ice). And once again with the behind the back cutsie-pie no look passes. Sheesh!

Pavs was great. Thank goodness for that.

Good point by a caller on 1290 right now - Jets no forecheck. Jersey all over them on the forecheck...

Jets need Enstrom back so Byfuglien can be Byfuglien again.

Any word on Toby's recovery?

I agree Jets need Enstrom back, but I like that Buff is concentrating more on defense. The last thing the Jets need is for Buff to think he has to carry the team on his back and reverts to playing rover. Once Enstrom is back more than enough offense is generated from the backend. We don't have enough team talent to play run and gun every night.

And man was Clitsome a giveaway machine tonight :help:

Burmi gets benched because he is still developing... Its too late for Olli to become a good hockey player so benching him is useless

sigh I guess upper management wants to go to more jets than thrashers

Good. There's not much to like about the Thrashers, we should get as far away from them as possible.

If Noel isn't impressed with Burmi, it's probably an attitude/effort/listening problem. Plus he's small and it's very clear that Chevy/Noel like size. Doesn't seem like a very good fit.

We should be able to get something good in return for him. In Chevy we trust.
