It's actually impressive how badly Dubas f***ed up this roster in so little time. He has outdone Sleepy by a lot. This team is horrendously bad, and outside of Blomqvist and maybe McGroarty but even that doesn't look great right now, zero upside.

You know while we're sorta loosely on the subject of EK and how bad the defense in general is along with their continuing issues on the powerplay... hiring Dave Quinn really, really was borderline criminal negligence. If people for some reason cannot yet bring themselves to be at least highly suspicious of Kyle Dubas then that alone should be reason enough. What a clownshow of a hire in an already goofy-ass circus of a team.

Things are looking real "unlocked" for sure.

Other than July 1st 2023, I don't mind what Dubas has done here but his absolute lack of moves early in the season is killing this team. Sullivan rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is not going to get this team anywhere.

Yeah, the Quinn hire made a little bit of sense to me ONLY if it meant we were going to get 2022-23 Erik Karlsson on this team this year. Instead, somehow Karlsson seems to be regressing along with every other defenseman not named Ryan Graves (even that is weird to say, but it is the truth). How much of the Quinn hire was Dubas, though? We were all surprised when Reirden was fired because we all felt Sullivan wanted to keep him. SO, I hypothesize that the only way Dubas was "allowed" to fire Reirden is if he hired Sullivan's buddy from Boston U. Quinn has improved the PP, but his choices for PP1 and PP2 are questionable at best. He is clearly worse than Reirden in terms of working with the defense.

I will stop blaming one individual for this shit show because nobody really knows who is running this ship. All we know is that this team stinks, the off-season was an unmitigated disaster and there is no hope for a turnaround anytime soon.

Are they going to make ANY moves to show that they have a pulse?

Oh I have no doubt that was the deal struck but Dubas doesn't get to weasel out of this. WTF use is a GM if he's not actually allowed to do his job? What kind of cowardly little toady even TAKES this job under those circumstances? Actually no let me correct myself... what absolute chode of a human being names HIMSELF GM under those circumstances? The alternative is that he's an absolute moron. Either way Kyle Dubas can kick rocks.

Maybe Dubas is playing 3D chess and he's plotting Sullivan's utter and total downfall by giving him everything he wants, knowing it will fail, and then being able to fire him and say "I gave you every single thing you wanted to be successful and you couldn't get the job done"?

Or maybe I'm just malicious and want to see Sullivan embarrassed utterly like the team he currently coaches gets utterly embarrassed any time they don't play a bottom 2 team.

Dubas is getting paid a ton of money to be the pin cushion. I am with you. If he had real cajones, he would resign because he is not allowed to run the team. We have seen this in the past. Remember when Pat LaFontaine was hired to be the president of hockey operations in Buffalo? He quickly resigned in 2014 after it was obvious to him that he could not run the team the way he wanted.

So yeah, I have little respect for Dubas IF he is a puppet right now. And if not, then eff him for ruining this roster. Either way, Dubas sucks.

Actually want to watch tonight’s game against the Caps…it could be historic…for Ovie lol…with our defense and goaltending, he might be able to catch Gretzky tonight…
It's conceivable that he will catch Gretzky this year. He's 33 away. We play them at game 58 and 82. It's possible we may play them on a night he breaks the record.

And quite honestly, I would love it he did it on game 82 vs us and Sid goes out to congratulate him immediately after.

I may have misunderstood, however I thought Quinn got along well with Karlsson in SJ. Strange how he comes here, and everyone is told he's a strong voice yet Sullivan blames Karlsson for everything and Quinn doesn't seem to be sticking up for him.

Or is this a play by Sullivan to let FSG know he didn't want Karlsson to begin with so that's where he's heaping the blame, directly on Karlsson and indirectly on Dubas for acquiring him.

Yeah, it's amazing.

Like I can't decide if Dubas has a hamster brain or is a legitimate folk hero here.

I would usually be impressed with his ability to con a bunch of investment bros out of tens of millions but he's completely ratf***ed my favorite team in the process and enabled a moron to assault my eyes and better judgement for years with awful hockey so I can't say it's worth it.
