haha you and I are on the same page there. I like $7-$7.5 anything $8-$9 seems to high for me but i would be able to accept $8. $9-$10 is an easy that's too much money for me based on his resume.

Yeah I think 8 is alright for MOST people

Another interesting think I've noticed in this debate is that regardless if you're pro-managment or pro-Sway , it seems pretty unanimous that 8/8 is a more than fair offer.

when they brought Fernandez in Thomas was in his third year playing over 30 games and not a backup and posted .917 and .905 the two years leading up to that.

the year Fernandez came in to challenge Timmy for his spot Timmy put up .921 and Fernandez played 4 games.

the next year Thomas played 54 with a .933 and Fernandez played 28 with a .910. I wouldn't call that cooked i would say Thomas won the job and that seems to be the start of the Bruins trying to carry two very solid goalies very season.

thats a pretty crazy history of goalie duos with Non of them having a sv % under .904 at the lowest.

i would love to go back and look at the boards worries between the 2019-2030 season and the 2021-2022 season when we went from Rask/Halak to Ullmark/Swayman. I am sure the comments were look went we went from last year to this year its going to be a dumpster fire lets fire everyone.

Thomas was not a happy camper during the Summer of 2010. I remember he removed all of the gold from his mask and pads as an FU to the club.

I think that this is what the Bruins' brass wants the narrative to be.

However, by locking in at 8 years for that cap hit, Swayman likely leaves millions on the table during his prime years.

If I'm Swayman, give me the $8m per, but times 2 years and I want another bite at the apple when I can lock in at $10m AAV.

If I'm the club, I say the $8m per is only good if you go long term. If you want 2 years instead, it's at $6.5m.

Again, why on earth would the club give him a bridge deal that walks him to free agency? A two year deal would never be on the table.

exactly sign him to a bridge deal and then if he proves he can continue what he has done so far and you feel he will never sign with you long term flip him at the trade deadline for a kings ransom.

If it’s gotta be a short term deal I’d play serious games here and make the dollar amount borderline insulting. If he’s gone, he’s gone, and no dollar amount will keep him here once he’s a UFA. So fine, you wanna be a UFA asap, then you can do that…but it’s not gonna be close to 8.5
