Exhibit A why coaches should scratch more veterans who are struggling instead of letting them slump through 20 games hurting their team.
So scratch Bouchard next?Exhibit A why coaches should scratch more veterans who are struggling instead of letting them slump through 20 games hurting their team.
It's so they can keep the father-son duo of Stuart and Jeff together. Why would Edmonton want him back if he's been so bad tho?
As soon as they canned Krueger and put Skinner back in a scoring role he started scoring again. He's a top 6 guy, not a 4th liner. Probably less of an issue in Edmonton, though, where they have plenty of offense and he's not eating up 15% of their cap.Maybe Kruger had solid reasons after all.
Funny that this exact same thing is happening by a respected coach after Sabres fans shit on Krueger for half a decade for doing it.
he's on pace for 65 points and is top 10 in pretty much every advanced stat, plus leads our team in icetime per game, takeaways, and blocks. So scratch Bouchard next?
Bet he is #1 in breakaways given and up there in giveaways in general.he's on pace for 65 points and is top 10 in pretty much every advanced stat, plus leads our team in icetime per game, takeaways, and blocks.
Scratching him would be more boneheaded than any of the mistakes the myopic like to fixate on.
But he hasn’t hurt our team.Exhibit A why coaches should scratch more veterans who are struggling instead of letting them slump through 20 games hurting their team.
If I could go back in time and cancel the deal, I would. But he is here now, isn't movable and he has potential to be important in our playoff run.Playoff hero, Jeff Skinner? If we could get out of his deal we should. The NMC we likely can’t. I’d love to be proven wrong about JS but saying this is a risk you like? Are you being honest here or is this just in keeping with your username?
They want all the skinnersWhy would Edmonton want him back if he's been so bad tho?
Yes, he has a lot of giveaways (65)Bet he is #1 in breakaways given and up there in giveaways in general.
We should trade him? Won’t be back next year? Same could be said about Connor Brown last year at this time. The story ain’t over with JSkinner yet. He’s already providing much needed depth scoring, and there’s a lot of time left on the year.
Coach had a glowing review of him recently in a Presser. Called him a complete pro that needed to work on some details of his game and has. Also rewarded him the gravy spot next to a McDrai shift last game. I'm not saying it's a 100%, but just saying alot can change and closing the doors on all possibilities is a bit premature at this point.I don't think J.Skinner will be back, no. The coach isn't very high on him and at $3 Million AAV the Oilers could use his cap hit for more constructive purposes.
He has been better as of late, true.
But how many dumb giveaways do Weegar , Parayko make that end up in breakaways or goals against.Yes, he has a lot of giveaways (65)
So does Weegar (76) Hamilton (67) Sergachev (69) Theodore (61) Parayko (60) McAvoy (60) Dobson (60) Pietrangelo (59) Hanifin (58) Josi (57) Makar (57).
It's par for the course for a puckmoving defenceman. Sometimes it doesn't work as expected.
Jeff Skinner one of the slowest forwards in the league and guy who single handedly kills power plays with his constant giveaways? You thought he would play well McDavid?I'm one of those many on here who saw (at the time of the signing) Jeff scoring 40 goals playing on McDavids wing all season.
