Somewhere on earth in a hospital
Petry is a good d-man. His role has to be a #3 dman and not on the first pair. He needs to be sheltered on the second unit and not play against the top line. He can give you good offense and good pushes. But nothing is working in the habs org this season so it's hard to tell something . All the vets are injured somehow and the kids are okay.

What is the value of Jeff Petry 4 years $6.2 mil

Habs retain $2 mil for next 4 years making his salary $4.2 mil.

1st round pick and top prospect?
I will give you Pearson or Dickenson for Petry at 4.2 million. I think Rutherford would do that trade while Habs would save some money and improve their forward depth

Petry was playing hurt for most of the season and it shows.

Habs are not going to trade him unless there is a substantial package so keep dreaming about 2nds and assorted fantasies.

truly ridiculous and delusional offer. what is it with all the shit offers on the main board for habs players? petry's offensive numbers are top 10 in the entire league the last 4 years. the entire team sucks this year, which is an outlier based on injuries, late playoffs etc. IF Gorton decides to trade petry, he will easily return a 1st and top prospect / young player. His contract remains very affordable and he has aged well as a defender.

With the retention Petry is worth a first and a b+ prospect as long as he's healthy. Before anyone says I'm a homer, I'm a leafs fan and despise Montreal. I can also appreciate a really good player when I see them play.

But Myers is playing like a number 1 D under Bruce almighty:naughty:
Boudreau is a good coach and has probably won the room again. But playing Myers as 1D would be looking for trouble. 2D in the top pair, sheltered by a legit 1D, possibly workable.

I might be wrong on this, but in the Jets times it always seemed like Myers got extra props for his size, when it was really only the periscope he then didn't develop into a weapon... The physical play didn't really go with that tall stature. Granted, I may be full ass wrong, so's I read the forum.

Myers has been pretty physical in D zone and played like 30 minutes against Blue Jackets. Thats a lot of minutes for people who consider him as a bottom pairing dman

Witness Ristolainen in Sabres though. All too many minutes.

If Myers is fine in the top pair, good for him. But say, do you consider him the 2D or the 1D in it?

Myers is second pairing but the way he is playing under Bruce with all the injuries and covid related issues, he ia playing like a 1D. He is not a great 1 D but he played pretty good for 30 minutes.

How can people be so f***ing stupid?

Read any post on this website and every single Hab player is worth nothing according to all the haters. I understand you're a hater of the Meca of hockey, Montreal, but relax with all the hate, kid. It's not good for your heart.
