Considering how little player turnover there has been, and how we've jumped between now two fully credentialed NHL coaches, you have to assume the latter will be part of the new tactic.

But it really shows a lack of foresight that Drury is trying this now, in the middle of the season. Maybe the market will open up as more teams learn more about themselves, but the timing is super odd to try to revamp the roster.
A shake up is different than a revamp, which wasn't used to describe what's happening.

Its so fitting that our team of artsy, introspective team leaders only show any emotion when their Utopia of being pampered and growing old together in NYC is threatened. Unfortunately the emotion seems to be contempt for the thought of upheaval. Sad. They shouldve come into this season foaming at the mouth to win.

Start on defense and go from there, but the work begins now @DRURY, not later. His job is at stake regarding how he handles the rest of this season. Same with Laviolette too. Regardless of what vets they move out, as long as Igor is here this team should be in the playoffs. Play the kids as much as possible and put the vets in the cuck chair until a trade can be found.

I would want to be friends with a lot of these guys. I think it’s cool that they seem to be relatively deep and interesting as far as pro athletes go.

But there’s a reason why most champions are personality-free robotic meathead jocks.

I agree but the grabassery of this team is unlike anything I've ever seen before. Friedman said on NHL network that other GMs were speculating that the Kreider trade rumors are to get Zibanejad going because they are pals. This is why we get dominated by real teams.

I actually disagree. I like that Drury is trying to stir the pot already. I dont care that they have a decent record, the product has been awful on the ice most of the season. I have tuned out of more games this year than in recent years. Its tiring watching them give up 15+shots every period and look like they cant be bothered to backcheck.

Watching Cuylle blossom and Igor being Igor have been some bright spots (still wouldnt pay him what he wants) but this team is leaving way too much to be desired

Any decisions about Shesty should wait until things shake out, one way or another. No point in spending all that money on a guaranteed 1st round bounce.

The first period wasn't any masterpiece like people here said but they seemed to be committed to defense and details. Then it eventually went away like always and especially after StL went up 3-2. The resilience, which had been a sort of trademark of this group, is now gone too. They decided to fold after 3-2.

Let's crowd source @Brother Mouzone a new TV after he ripped his off the wall in anger last night.

Hey folks. My “day” started with the orderlies fetching me right on puck drop. Had my angio, a couple hours in recovery and then a lengthy discussion with my cardiologist (I have a cardiologist now). I didn’t have my phone or iPad with me so didn’t know the score until I got rolled back to my room (my iPad is open to HF on the table).

They tell me I had a mild “cardiac event” yesterday.

After watching the highlights and reading every single line in the PGT I’ll hazard that I was better off missing the game today (that’s gonna be yesterday for you blokes by the time you read this).

There’s nothing more to add about the game that hasn’t been said.

I hope my recovery coincides with a similar uptick in performance from the team across the next few months.

And you buggers are gonna be putting up with me for a little longer as well, not quite ready to give up yet….on the team either! But something has to change.

The Row I Goon.
Hang in there, buddy.

I really like berard. I gotta say it again. Kid looked really good.

But why did Lav not play him more in the third. He was one of the few effective players and players who actually gave a shit.

Lav needs to start rewarding players who play well and bust their ass

Lafreniere & Panarin have sucked recently (Im chalking it up to the extension/upheaval) but they were there answering questions after that pathetic performance. Can't say the same about the alleged leaders on this team.

I also blame a lot of it on Trocheck. He's been absolutely DREADFUL this year with the puck and his positioning.

My biggest question is Trochek. He looks beaten down. Last year he had a fire. He just looks defeated now.

The locker room is really a mess i think.

Trocheck was a leader last year, he looks like he took a complete step back. I dont get it.

Berard should be here to stay. he was calling for the puck all night. Kakko was too. I think some of these young guys are sensing the transition/oppurtunity and are looking to run with it. Lavi needs to get with the program and start playing these guys like they are his top players. Because they are.

Trocheck got named an all-star then got chosen to represent the Rangers at the player showcase before the season. I feel like he started to like the smell of his own farts around then. He is a better player than this but he needs to get his head out of his ass. NMC becomes a 15 team NTC this summer. Chytil needs to play as the top C when he returns.

It got into the public realm yesterday, so whatever tensions or dysfunction there might've been behind closed doors between players and staff/management is now out in the open. We're probably looking at mutiny by the leadership group. Maybe Drury wants this, or maybe he miscalculated. But how can we be mad at Drury? He's doing what we're all thinking about anyway. Yes, he did tie one hand behind his back with bad contracts, but all teams, not just in hockey but in sports generally, carry a couple of bad contracts. Shocking.
