Astros are basically his hometown team but that seems weird. How many OF do the Astros need? Springer, Reddick, Gonzalez, Marisnick and Fisher already on the roster.

It’s probably an overpayment given the market but their lineup is just awful. Cespedes is injured too much, Conforto May never really be the same and everyone else is rather pedestrian. So they at least needed another scare bat in there

Fwiw, the only other offer he got was from Giants for 3 years/30 mil

The Mets spent money. It will be snowing in hell tonight.

They'll probably expect the fans to back off now that they actually made a signing

On WFAN I heard that the Mets had a trade ready for Kipnis (Indians) but the Mets backed out because the Indians wanted the Mets to eat his contract :sarcasm: It is a bad contract in fairness but typical Mets behavior

IMO, Marisnick should be a backup/late inning defensive sub. Bruce was also a backup option if Fisher was traded. Also, I heard that the Astros don't want Gonzalez as a starting LF. Would prefer for him to be a backup OF/IF. Before Bruce, they were linked to Carlos Gonzalez as well.
