Since being left off the 4-Nations US roster, Robo has 14 points in 12 games.

Took his omission personally, or the foot injury is healed?

Could be both . Guy has been a reliable scorer for several years , some good puck luck was due . But maybe it just took extra time to get up to speed due to surgery ( even if minor it’s likely an hindrance ) . Apart from Duchene most of the Dallas players are having off years so far . So maybe there is a theme/ reason .

Up to 40 points in 45 games this season. Will probably end up arround ~80 points. He's a ppg winger his 100+ points year was probably an outlier imo

Finally dropped him from my fantasy team so I suspect he'll be back on the up and up.

Goal scorers are streaky, even the better ones. Imagine if he gets it going in the spring nobody will remember his start.

Yeah, that was predictable I guess... every move I've made this season has backfired lol
Goal scorers slump sometimes.

He appears to be back to his old self. Maybe having foot surgery and missing all of camp had a little something to do with the slow start. Ya think?
Not likely. Last time that happened he scored 100 points. He was just really bad to start the season. The whole line was honestly. And their PP was flat awful.

Besides, you could prob cut his foot off completely and not notice. The guy is a garbage skater even at his best. That's never been an important part of his game.

please refrain from making logical posts on this forum - he is terrible, hfboards posters said so!
Lol, nobody said he's terrible. Save the drama. Nobody makes a thread wondering why a terrible player isn't scoring well. The fact that this thread even exists means these boards expect him to be good.

I chuckled when this threat came to fruition and people started talking about his contract and this and that. Bro's been over a PPG player in his career and a slow start people freak out. Most of us knew he would rebound and well that is happened.

There were multiple main board threads shoveling dirt on him

Then he plays like he has for the rest of his career and it's crickets

It also helps that Benn/Heiskanen were replaced by Duchene/Harley on the PP

as the thread creator, at the time when I made this thread — he was entirely underproducing but now i’ll eat crow.

I don’t have any ill will against him or the stars, as a jackets fan.

You don't really need to eat crow dude. Don't get gaslit. He was garbage relative to normal for the first 2 months of the season, and it was more than fair to wonder why.

You certainly aren't the only one. He was playing so poorly it cost him a spot on the 4 nations roster. Before the season he would have been considered a lock. So people who evaluate talent professionally thought he looked off as well.

Good that he is back to being himself after surgery. It's ridiculous that no one on the board is predicting him to make 2026 Olympic team.
