Moving O'Reilly and Alex Nylander was questionable moves for sure but difficult for us judging. Perhaps they didn't like it in Buffalo, I have no idea about their attitudes. Having the right attitude is extremely important and something I highly highly. On paper moving a huge talent like Alex Nylander early is simply hmmmm "risky" (it may come back biting you) and O'Reilly is such a good hardworking player, a role model out there.

Not sure if Jason Botterill is pushed or having huge pressure on his shoulders from fans and the owners. Almost giving me the impression he wants to win now, a bit inpatient? When rebuilding it may be hmmm dangerous having a GM like that.

You might be the only person around suggesting that theory.

Moving Nylander was a fantastic move because we got a stud defender back.
We traded fwd talent when we needed fwd talent for a very good defensemen who was at a position of surplus. Yes Joker has fit in well, but there is a case to be made that if you are going to move AN, then he should have targeted a fwd to replace the void.

Defenders who defend well in their own end are NOT at a surplus unfortunately. Jokiharju is the only guy that knows what he's doing in the defensive zone.

Risto is actually doing pretty well with bodying guys right off the pucks in recent games but his partner isn't doing much.

He is no better nor worse than Pilut, Montour, Scandella or Miller. He moves the puck better than all but possibly Pilut and Montour. I like him as a player, but would have rather trade o for o. It was a glaring hole and Vesey was not my idea of a solution. Not arguing he is bad but we had a surplus when the deal was made.

All I can say is I disagree. He is better at defending (at least from what we’ve seen) than all the guys you mentioned.

Don't let the Jimmy hear you say this. The Jimmy is a sensitive guy.

I’ll take “What people said of Dahlin last season before he turned into a train wreck” for $400 Alex

Botterill to me is giving an impatient impression.

Moving O'Reilly, moving Nylander, outrage last game after a mistake from Dahlin.

If he was trying to win now, hire a vet coach and make sure he doesn’t have to trade O’Reilly. Moving O’Reilly was not a move to help them win now in the least. It was just stupid.

Maybe he just thinks patience or a lack of it means something different, like make one real dumb move fast and then a bunch of dumb slow moves.

Jim Rutherford must have known Botts is a moron. So he over-hyped him to a rival knowing full well he would set that franchise back several years. Offloading 10 mil in dead cap weight to his fake protege was simply gravy.

The Fabbri trade is exactly something I wanted us to be in on..instead we get fathead sitting on his hands as he has like 20 defensemen collecting dust. The way this team has been the past month feels like its time to start watching Lafreniere highlights...they've been that bad.
