I think Playing-Time may have turned out to be more of a factor than just making the playoffs.

Obviously Jagr appreciates the playing time, but I highly doubt that's the sole reason he'd laud Deboer as a "perfect" coach. He obviously likes his system and thinks it's one that's beneficial for the Devils' personnel.

Jagr fits out system and style like a glove, so I really felt like he'd be back.. We play a strong puck-possession game, and who is better at holding onto the puck than Jagr? We're also a slower team, so he doesn't have to worry about rushing up and down the ice like he would on some other run-and-gun teams..

Add in things like countryman Elias (maybe Zids) being here, easiest travel in the NHL, getting to play on the top line, becoming a face of the franchise, and potential to add some serious talent - really a no brainer for him

Lou went on to confirm that a 24/7-style series will follow the team all season long, a press conference will actually be held to announce free agent signings, and players will be allowed to wear whatever number they want

The bolded is the one that made me almost faint.

The only time Lou has ever confirmed something is when "nothing is confirmed".

As far as UFAs are concerned, the options range from Tomas Vanek to Mason Raymond and Benoit Pouliot. I wouldn't mind if Lou gave a 2-3 year deal to someone like Moulson, Cammalleri, Penner, J. Jokinen, lot of cheap-ish options who'd be pretty effective on a line that seems to play exclusively in the offensive zone.

Thank God. I was holding out on getting a player tee but now I'll definitely order one ASAP. It was just an absolute pleasure to watch him in red and black last year. Can't wait to see him do work for another year.

Now get him some help please. I love the guy but I'm not sure if relying on him to do the heavy lifting for another season is a good idea.

He's playing incredibly well for LA right now. His biggest issue with the Rangers was Tortorella.

Team needs a #1 scorer that shoots LH.

Devils are a Cap team with the new owners. I would be shocked if the Devils don't put a serious offer for Vanek/Gaborik.

15 players signed and a ~20 million in cap space. Fayne and Larsson will both be low cap hit players. The only forwards that aren't signed for next year are 4th liners. I won't be surprised at all if we sign 3 high quality forwards with one of them being either Vanek or Gaborik.

People seem to think Lou is now okay with losing.......they would be wrong.
