Jari Kurri or Teemu Selanne?

Was Jari Kurri a complementary player because of his nature, or because Wayne Gretzky was also on the team?

I'm inclined to think it was more about Gretzky than his ability. Though a part of my point was also directed to their respective personalities. Selanne was more than easy to handle being the front man and Kurri was always more natural as a bass player.

For me, Teemu surpassed Kurri about the time he had 80-point season at the age of 40.

It's so hard to put Kurri in the proper context. Literally impossible to put a strong shooting winger in a better position to succeed.

I'd rather have Jari Kurri because of his defensive skills but Teemu Selanne was a bigger star, I think.
