Havent even thought about that possibility because I know its not going to happen. That's my path.

But I'll save a spot for you on the Tobin when he makes it. I know you won't be able to handle the fact that you'll be wrong.

:)

I always hope for every player to make it, unless he is a hab, but this "Knight getting screwed" train was getting a little long. Wish him all the best but if don't hold your breath waiting for the breakthrough, not likely to happen, but you can always blame Cassidy, you won't be alone in that.

Major London Knights fan.

Was a HUGE proponent of Jared Knight, thought his game just screamed Bruins.

However from everything I've read, seen, been told, etc. injuries have really caught up to Knight add in the muscle mass he put on from his MMA training (consider that if he ever wanted to fight he'd either be at middleweight, cut from 210 to 185 or light heavyweight cutting from 225/230 to 205) he just lost a bit of the spark that made him such a highly thought of prospect.

I hope he gets it back on the rails in Minnesota, and it looks like we have a prospect in Phillips who could still turn into something for us.

Wild fan here. Fans in Minnesota hoped he would turn out to be a great pick, especially since he was the pick we got in the Brent Burns trade. He got buried on the depth chart with better talent coming in. He's highly skilled but never really put it together. If he can commit himself to the gym and improve his skating, you might have a pretty decent return here. I hope he gets his chance.

Just wanted to say that you probably got something interesting here. Saw him play a lot since I follow the Q and I thought he wasn't solely a product of Huberdeau. Was creating a lot of chances for himself and his linemates. Good hockey IQ. All about consistency for him. Have that tendancy to sleep at the job. If he gets it....might have a chance to do something.

Hi Whitesnake good to see you

Knight really was going nowhere here - blame Cassidy or blame Knight as you like, the end result is the same. So if he gets a chance to swim in a different fish pond, all the better. Sounds like 2 players who desperately needed a change of scenery. I got no complaints.

Thanks Whitesnake ! How are you ?

Very good thanks. Family and hockey team is doing fine. ;) Hope you guys still have faith. Just remember the last time you guys wanted Chiarelli and Julien out....it gave you a cup. Be patient. Talbot is a good energy addition. Connelly might very well get it with you guys.

The Knight wanting to be an MMA fighter thing and getting hurt is a total fabrication. He trained with an MMA guy because of the regimen, not because he wanted to be an actual fighter

Knight's injury problems all stemmed from a high ankle sprain suffered in a fight with Kirby Rychel his last year in Juniors. He played through it in order to try to get London a Memorial Cup, and unfortunately, it caused issues with his hamstrings which plagued him his first couple of years in the AHL.

I am a B's fan first and foremost, but occasionally a player comes along who I like and feel has gotten a raw deal. Sobotka was one, and now Knight. I don't see how it makes me any less of a fan because I don't blindly applaud every single move the organization makes. I hope the B's do well (although today's deadline didnt help that much)...but I was happy when SOB went on to have some success in STL despite many here saying he was a waste of space, and the same holds true for Knight. I hope he goes to Iowa/Minny and actually gets a chance to play regular minutes and not have to worry about a bi-polar coach benching him every time he makes a minor mistake.

Hmm Zach Phillips, former 1st round pick (#28) of 2011 draft.
Still only 22 years old. A right handed shot 6' 194 lbs.

Scored 12 goals and 21 assists for the AHL Iowa Wild.
Not a bad return. Maybe both players just need a change of scenery.

Also, have not seen Phillips recently, but have been told by someone that has he is slow, has a poor work ethic and is pretty soft. If this report is true, exactly what the B's needed more of...

Sigh.

Say G'bye to another horrible, horrible Chia/Smith/Benning/Whoever draft mistake.
A mid-late 3rd-round talent over-drafted by almost a round-1/2, when Faulk, Merrill & Toffoli were ripe for the picking. I was shocked when I heard his name mentioned at #32.
No loss, whatsoever.

Hindsight is always 20-20. Once they took him, it still doesn't explain why the B's didn't do their best to develop a "3rd round prospect".

Well, that would be a waste because the Wild farm team is in Iowa. Des Moines exactly.

They are also the worst team in the AHL, so if Knight can't make it there, he should probably go back to MMA (wow, now there's something that wasn't included in the extensive bios about him for the last two seasons!) training and skip the DEL. Ronda Rousey needs opponents.

Meanwhile, Zack Phillips sounds like he wasn't a happy camper in Minnesota, so I hope he sticks it to whomever and all that.

Interesting what the Bruins did with this trade - may talk about it later: Cassidy probably knows if his childhood buddy Chia who got him jobs in Ottawa and Boston doesn't get fired and replaced by Don Sweeney.

Good hockey trade. Surprised knight was able to land someone like Phillips given his (lack of) production. Phillips has less pro experience and was a former 1st rounder so the potential is certainly there to develop into something down the road. Its likely both players fizzle out as busts but I feel better about Phillips chance to succeed in Boston than I did with knight so I view this as a win

my time around the Garden since 1966 has led me to know a few people in and around the game and getting a text from a Wild person (was there when woke up) they are down on Phillips- I'll leave out the other stuff. I will say Cassidy will do everything but lick this kids ass hole to make sure he looks better than Knight.

Hey, good for Knight we will see what he has.

If he flames out I'll admit it, others here I'm not sure if they have the self confidence to admit they are wrong. We shall see what some of these posters got between there legs.

Fits Chiarelli's "New" Bruins to a T.

I sent a text to Cliff Fletcher after seeing what Jordan Leopold did to get her dad traded to Minnesota; figured they get it and get Jared Knight away from Bruce 'the evil step mother ******' and it worked. Love the Wild:handclap:

 Someone like Phillips?

Knight and Phillips were taken four spots apart in the draft (different years), and I am pretty damn sure he has gotten more and more consistent playing time.

ZP: 196 AHL games, 75 pts/.38 ppg, -59

(Knight has played in only 107 AHL games, 27 pts/.25ppg, +2)

It won't surprise me at all if Knight puts up better numbers than Phillips, given the same amount of TOI in Iowa. The other problem is that Phillips will only succeed if he's in the Top 6. Unlike Knight, he can't skate and doesn't hit or play D, so there will be no "working his way up from the 4th line" in the NHL.

The B's don't have room (apparently) for guys like Spooner and Koko who are younger and/or have vastly outperformed Phillips in the AHL. I would have been happier if Knight was dealt for some "project" who had NHL speed and grit, but needed time to develop.

Good points. "Someone like phillips" wasnt intended to make zack out to be a super prospect. I just thought knight carried very little value on the market, which is why i had always been vocal about keeping him in the past. Like I said I think the most likely scenario is that both players fizzle out into nothing but like the fact that Phillips carries a first round stigma, is a touch younger and has more upside albeit a lower floor. That seems to be the direction the bruins are heading in with both their amateur and scouting departments lately with the last draft and now in the trade market, which is in direct contrast to the previous amateur directors philosophy.
