Davidson is a winger in Laval. And he will obviously be a winger if he gets called up. So Evans/Dvorak being traded will be more for either Beck, Condotta or Gignac.

Now if/when they move Armia, then I can see them call Davidson up.

Davidson is a prospect that is starting to catch the attention of many fans especially those who watch Rocket games. He just seems determined to succeed and I wouldn't bet against him.

Different type of player. Davidson lacks Evans fluidity and agility in skating. Davidson plays a much heavier game than Evans and has much more offensive upside than Evans ever had. If you're thinking of a player that Davidson projects to replace on the team's current roster it's Gallagher, not Evans.

Davidson still has to gain greater quickness to be an effective NHL winger. As Roy so demonstratively showed, the gap between the pace of the NHL and the AHL is as wide as the Grand Canyon. It's a gap that very few AHL players are able to cross. But Davidson has shown a high, consistent compete level, fair straightforward speed, a shot that he can score on AHL level goalies from anywhere in the offensive zone, a nose for the net , good physicality and a leadership quality that all coaches and managers look for. Sounds like a bigger, more offensively talented Gallagher . What do you think?

Younger Gallagher was pretty slippery in the trenches. He had a kind of quickness and relentlessness in the dirty areas which made him hard to tie up.

I'll take Davidson over Roy any day of the week. The kid can play and gets involved,doesn't wait for the puck to come to him.

He will not replace Evans as Davidson will be a winger if he makes it imo and Evans is a much better skater than Davidson could ever dream of becoming.

I like the jam in his game and he has a great shot but I see him as a bottom six winger who would more likely be part of a meat and potato grind line where he could add the threat of instant offence with his shot.

The gap is not so much foot speed as it is game speed and AHLers are AHLers because they do not process the game fast enough in their head.

Calling him a more offensively talented Gallagher is laughable as Gallagher was a much more productive player at every level. Gallagher's skill gets overlooked by fans because of his image as a garbage goal scorer but he has always had very good hands and as well as a very underrated shot and great footwork in tight spaces as well has being very strong for his size.

One of the most annoying things about Bergevin was him overpaying bottom six players and leaving minimal space to fill out the more important areas.

Looking forward to our bottom six being filled out with hungrier young guys like Heineman, Davidson, Tuch, Beck etc. on cheap contracts instead of spending $8M on guys like Dvorak/Armia.
