Expected. He was great in preseason and improved throughout the year. We don't have a lot of forward depth it makes sense to bring him back. If he were a D it would be easier to cut.

I wasn't really worried.. 11 goals as an AHL rookie, he's a big kid, good leader. He has a chance to be a great 4th liner in the league.

I don't believe that. Houle saw a kid clearly not ready for the AHL. No way a professional head coach would decide that a recently drafted 1st round pick is not worthy and dislikes him. Management wouldn't tolerate that.
