Jared Bednar & Co. Discussion Thread

Chris MacFarland about Jared Bednar: “100% confident. Jared is our head coach.”

If he's not going to fire him, he has to say that.

Personally I assume that Jared is walking on a thin ice. It's a shame the ice doesn't crack until we lose next playoffs.

On the subject of luck—no championship at any level in any sport was won without a fair bit of good luck playing a role.
That's not my argument. I do agree that every championship needs a fair amount of bounces to go the teams' way. Some of those are in-game bounces, like a shot going off the post and out of the net versus a shot going off the post and into the net. The problem is I cannot take the luck factor against a effing Dallas Stars team who were MISSING two of their better players. Avs were, for the most part, 99% healthy and looked like they had so much trouble competing against Dallas during those off games. They played so badly at times, they needed a bounce-back win in the next game (which was at home) to show how dominant they were. Game 5 to Game 6 is the perfect example of what I mean. I felt we were always playing from behind, even after winning the first game of the series. Game 3 was what lost us the series. To come home and have Landeskog return, just to lay a stinker for the ages. That's not a luck factor, that is an execution factor.

Oh I'm with you on game 3. Of everything that happened, that more than anything upset me the most.

This team most definitely horribly underachieved. They could have, and should have won this series handily.

Game 1 to Game 2.
Game 3
to Game 4.
Game 5 to Game 6.

All three of those bolded games were pure rubbish.

I would consider more of a luck viewpoint in terms of how we lost if both teams were 100%, I just can't with the way we lost against the Stars B-/C+ team.
