All of this talk and hype around David Carle every year, why not for the Avs? I don’t necessarily believe in needing a vet coach for a vet team. Bednar came in when the core was very young and grew with them but I think a young innovative coach could fit in this situation if the team buys in.
I would hate going the dinosaur retread route purely based on experience. Torts for example would be a disaster waiting to happen. Laviolette wouldn’t be too much different after the toxicity we just saw in NY.
If we look at the Nuggets as an example, one of the main reasons Malone is gone is due to relationships and the “fear culture.” They replaced him on an interim basis with Adelman, who is an up and coming and highly thought of coach. He was already on the staff and may not even be retained but that’s who Kroenke put in place to lead his veteran team.
