Okay, took a step back for a minute and got rid of some anger, but I think things are slowly, slowly coming together. Thought Burrows and Higgins played better. It's pretty clear we're running on fumes for the majority of the game. This is a typical start for the Canucks, but on the bright side, we're at least getting points out of these games as we find our game and shake off the rust. I think we'll look back at these games and be pretty happy we got these points, even though we blew leads to get them.

I'll be worried if we're still playing like this in a month or two, but I doubt we will.

Tanev played great. If he keeps that up they'll have to find more ice-time for him.

didn't bowness (or AV) say something about wanting to play that pairing more because they've been our best dmen?

tonight they got about the same amount of ice time they always do

If the Canucks start getting destroyed by the Blackhawks, expect things to turn ugly.
Guys will be seeking revenge on Keith.

I'm hoping it goes Bertuzzi getting suspended ugly for Kassian where he gets suspended for 10 games for defending Daniel, comes back, realizes his potentail and becomes a monster.

This really isn't true. The media keeps on reporting it because it is an exciting idea that will get people interested in the nhl again but it is bs. The last shortened season the new jersey devils went 0-4, but they would also win the cup. It sucks that the canucks aren't playing well but they do have time to get their act together.

The problem is our "slow starts" equates to a month and change. If we continue along that line than the media is correct.

ANYONE as long as the culture is changed. Enough of this 7 year crap with the same coach. The team needs a new voice. You know what we said the exact same crap 4 years ago after missing the playoffs... "Who the **** would we hire as our new coach huh?" So don't act arrogant. Enough is enough it's time to get a new coach.

It's not arrogant. I'm just tired of all the whining like its easy to just fire AV and hire a guy in season.

So someone tell me. "Who the **** would we hire as our new coach?"

heck
If it takes the canucks getting blown out in order for them to have a chat with dk, then I have even less respect for them.

Don't worry, they'll still be looking to go after him, but if there is a huge lead, I expect some guys to go crazy and end up getting ejected.

It's always somewhat interesting to see how coloured the impressions of certain players are based on narratives coming into the game. Tanev was getting bailed out by Ballard on regular basis today, got bailed out by Schroeder twice, etc. He did not have a very good game, merely average or if I'm generous then above average. Ballard on the other hand was a stud.

Garrison wasn't great but also wasn't as bad as people are implying. Blocked everything he could, was excellent along the boards most of the game, etc.

I thought Tanev was great... and Kassian was pretty good out there as well..

He played very well. However, it still was a rough game for him. Hopefully he'll learn from today and quickly fix it. I am loving this kid. Simple, effective.

They were out of gas. When you're hemmed in your own end for a minute plus at a time, that's all you got left. Dump and change.

So is this a function of 4 games in 6 nights?

Or is LA a better team that is too big and strong for VAN to handle?

People seem to think this team is an offensive, skill based powerhouse. We aren't, we are 2-way team that grinds out wins through system and commitment. It's how we got to G7 SCF. It's how we got the PT trophy last year. We have 2 proven skill players in the line up (Sedins). We simply don't have the horses to play a skill game atm, we don't even a proper PP running/offensive dman.

Just accept that maybe AV knows something. As much as AV irritates me at times, it's how we have won and it's how we will keep winning. Get a new coach and the problems won't go away unless get more skill players who can elevate those around him. Wouldn't hurt the shootouts:laugh:.

Pretty sure we're in the exact same wavelength right now.

Garrison has had 2 bad plays that resulted in goals recently, therefore in minds of many, is awful.

Agree with your first paragraph. Disagree with your second.

Garrison is having a lot of trouble off the boards. He was beat the same way today as he was in the San Jose game yesterday. Heavy forecheck catches him not moving his feet and losing the puck.

Hanging with Brad Doty.
Kings looked fired up after that 2nd goal, clearly teams and fans still marking canucks games down on the calender and excited to play them.

I was kind of hoping after getting eliminated first round teams and fans would not see us a measuring stick, and we would get some easy wins.

Fan on 1040 called in last night from san jose also saying that was the game everyone there had marked down.

It's always exciting to play you guys. Both teams looked a little rusty still and aren't going full steam, yet. Either way, we enjoy it when we go head to head. See you again March 2nd :)

Pretty sure I saw Hansen hit the ref again with about 5:30 left in the 3rd.

I saw this too lol honey badger just don't care

I love Hansen's worth ethic.

So far Raymond, Hansen, Kassian, Ballard, Tanev ,Shroeder have been impressive. Really like Weise so far as well.

I'm liking Raymond's ability to create some room forhimself on the second unit..in the past the second unit seemed far too scrambly. Overall though, the pp is pretty bad..definately not up to Canuck standards.

Luongo had a great game.

Our defense is just terrible at the moment, no one clearing the crease on their 2nd goal, Edler just idly standing by..Giving up too many grade A chances..

This

Tanev played surprisingly average, I can think of three pretty terrible plays of the top of my head. People just have the preconceived notion that Tanev > Garrison and therefore look for faults in Jason's game and overlook Tanev's mistakes

He also has 1 shot in the past ~40 minutes of play.

Tanev had some absolutely great, smart plays to help the team out. He's been one of our most reliable d-men.

Tanev had redeeming moments tonight. Garrison did not.
