Agreed. If Canada wins, I would want them to win without an accidental non call. The crappy thing is...the players and coaches had no idea that the puck crossed the line. And now the controversy. We'll hear a coach say he knew it was in and Russia was screwed. It'll just make things really bad.

Nope. Didn't count it.

that's ehhhh, should've counted.

really unfair, even if I'm a canadian fan it should be 2-1.

Well, by the rules they can't allow it once play has been resumed, unfortunately. It's too bad because that puck obviously crossed the line.

yeah russians got screwed but they can't really complain since they didn't even think it was in. Had the russians thought it was in and protested it probably would have been reviewed right away and been counted.

Why the f*** didn't the players complain???

They probably didn't notice. It was quick and the view was obstructed.

The person who blew it was the goal judge. If he had seen it go in (his job) then he would have turned the light on and they definitely would have gone upstairs. The Russians got screwed.

What happened, for those of us not in front of a TV?
A Russian player came down the wing and backhanded the puck into the net, but it looked like the Canadian goalie got it, but they didn't go upstairs for the replay. Russia had scored, but they didn't complain and the play went on with no review.

Hence no goal as a result

That should have been a goal. Why review it if your not going to change the call?

2-1 IMO.

Nope, 2-0. It took several reviews, and a couple minutes before anyone saw it was in. Not the ref, not the goal judge, not even the players. Sucks for Russia, but that's life.

Nooooooo

A Non Called Goal Right After A Non-called Trip

This Is Going To Cause So Much Heat If Russia Loses Now :(

What in the world are they thinking calling the official over to tell them we have reviewed the play, it went in .... but we are not allowed to count it. Just so you know we screwed you. As Gord Said, wouldn't it be better not to know. Unbelievable.

That's always been a *stupid* rule.

Getting it right is the most important thing. You can stop the game for 10 minutes to review a play, but you can't rewind 10 or 15 seconds off the clock?

wow, goal. I would have been mad if they would have called it a goal after keeping the play going. The upstairs goal judge should have done his job and called the ref before the play started. oh well, lets see if this pumps up the russians.

Brutal. Count the goal, rewind the clock, drop the puck at centre ice.

If that were possible, the Calgary Flames would have won the Cup in game 6 off of Gelinas goal

unfortunately....you can't rewind the clocks if the ref goofs like this

I woulda gona upstairs though when it happened. it looks close enough for the goalie to have slid it out. coach shoulda played it safe.

Russia definitely got robbed there, much rather it count and Canada wins or loses fairly. Guarantee you the Canadian team would of rather that counted too, nobody wants that to be a difference maker at the end. Actually would love to see a string of 5 on 3's for Russia to make up for that. :)

We were very lucky to not be down 2-0 in that period, let alone up 2-0.
Two more periods like that and the Russians will be wearing gold.

Way too much Malkin bashing here. The second goal wasn't his fault at all, he was doing his job.

No two more periods like the first one and Canada will win the gold last time I checked the score was 2-0 Canada......

As soon as the faceoff was done, the play became moot. A goal cannot be reviewed afterward, and I have no idea why they even went upstairs.

Same reason why we didn't win the cup (although this one was more obvious.)

I am a little concerned about the intensity that Canada is showing in the first 5 minutes of this 2nd period. They are not playing the way they need to play to win this game.

Russia is slowly, but surely, starting to change the tide of this game.
