He specifically said "start on the road", not overall play.
He meant starting the season on road. Not about all road games. And I do see his point this time.
Thank you for understanding my opinions and statements.
So yeah I of course hope for a fine season for Scrivens, tonight concluded.
The mentality of starting on the road is a very easy thing to understand. There are no distractions at all. That's why with young guns and rookies its great to throw them out there on the road/when starting season etc.
I was surprised Randy Carlyle hasn't made the decision like a week ago that reimer gets the nod here, after that scriven road game.
This is the way carlyle goes here and we¨ll have to see what it does.
As a former player I would definitely always want to start on the road when it comes to season starts or even the playoffs. A Human mind state is the same with the players, goalies, coaches and everybody, cleaning ladies etc. So when a rookie/new comer strikes the ice when things are big and important, he or she just wants to do his thing and concentrate on his doings. Not anything else like the fans, media, pressure, home crowd or expectations.
It's a very simple thing when you really think about it.
I for one have not made any notifications of Scrivens having any number one goalie attributes. He does not have any things going for him that would make him number one goalie in any team in the NHL.
So it is puzzling for him to get the start after the road game. In Toronto.
Excited and puzzled to see what happens in front of the great fans tonight.
