You are wrong.

While I disagree with almost everything he has said here, I can somewhat agree here with him. For an inexperienced goalie you might feel more pressure at home but then again, fans (most times lol) aren't booing you and all over you.

Definitely a big game to get some points in. In a season this short every game really does matter. Especially with no out of conference games.

Well at least we're not playing in Buffalo, have some bad luck there.

Ahh man I want this team to tank and get another top 5 pick this year but at the same time it kills me to not cheer for them to win every night lol

Anyone else in the same boat? haha

Exactly, my heart says playoffs but my brain says tank.

As we all know, deficits are hard to make up in the NHL in the 3 point system. 48 game season, can't fall behind the pack.

Same. I can't fully cheer against but are we a playoff team yet? I'm not sure. I'm a Mooseheads fan so watch both Drouin and Nate alot and if they are ranked 2 and 4, this is one hell of a draft. They are 2 of the best non draft eligible players I've seen in quite a while.

Fraser and Holzer in? Eh...

The Bash brothers

He specifically said "start on the road", not overall play.

He meant starting the season on road. Not about all road games. And I do see his point this time.
Thank you for understanding my opinions and statements.

So yeah I of course hope for a fine season for Scrivens, tonight concluded.

The mentality of starting on the road is a very easy thing to understand. There are no distractions at all. That's why with young guns and rookies its great to throw them out there on the road/when starting season etc.

I was surprised Randy Carlyle hasn't made the decision like a week ago that reimer gets the nod here, after that scriven road game.

This is the way carlyle goes here and we¨ll have to see what it does.

As a former player I would definitely always want to start on the road when it comes to season starts or even the playoffs. A Human mind state is the same with the players, goalies, coaches and everybody, cleaning ladies etc. So when a rookie/new comer strikes the ice when things are big and important, he or she just wants to do his thing and concentrate on his doings. Not anything else like the fans, media, pressure, home crowd or expectations.

It's a very simple thing when you really think about it.

I for one have not made any notifications of Scrivens having any number one goalie attributes. He does not have any things going for him that would make him number one goalie in any team in the NHL.
So it is puzzling for him to get the start after the road game. In Toronto.

Excited and puzzled to see what happens in front of the great fans tonight.

My girl is a damn Sens fan but she won the seats. So it's not the worst. I will just cheer for the Panthers

Precisely the return I was talking about. Good decision. There are also a few positives at the game to look forward to

-A guaranteed terrible intro, with the possibility to see something as epic as that spartan thing they did. That second rate org has all the ability in the world to make themselves the laugh of the league again
-Neil copping a beating from Parros if he fights him, although knowing Neil he will look for some European before George gets to him
-Fla has some good young players that will be fun to watch

Lets see.... home opener in front of a sold out crowd, not to mention a tough divisional rival who we are competing for a playoff spot for in a shortened season. The heat is definetly on, its up to Scrivens to see HOW he responds to it.

He did all of that on Saturday night.

Montreals home opener was sold out and they're a division rival who we're competing with in a shortened season. And he played well, made saves when it counted and got lucky a couple of time, like any goaltender.

Also, please do not discount his play in the AHL playoffs. If people give credit to Reimer's experience when he played with Reading in the ECHL playoffs - then the same should be granted to Scrivens.

PS - I am not a Scrivens fan boy or crapping on Reimer. I am just baffled that fans won't root for their goaltender to have a good game and have faith in them. It's terrible to see fans almost want Scrivens to fail or predict he will fail.

Tbh I was extremely impressed by Buffalo against Philadelphia and I'd expect them to win this game because they'll be a top team in the conference but one thing the Flyers suck at is getting off to a good start in the game and if we don't let Buffalo dominate the first then there's a chance.

Plus Flyers got screwed over a little by questionable no-goal calls.
