It was a terrible drawn up 5 on 3, in my opinion. Any team on a 5 on 3 will execute a one-timer, guaranteed. You have 2 guys that can blast it, but for some reason they try and past it through defensemans or shot with barely any traffic.

I never said they played badly this period though. The PP just wasn't good at all, despite the shots.

Demote the whole line to 3rd line. They haven't done much of anything.

No it is not. Most NHL games are competitive and close enough that one or two critical things decides the game, the other 58 minutes are very even. It's things like this - missing consecutive 5 on 3's - that is death. That's your chance right there and we blew it.

That said, our players are all pulling their weight except for the ones earning the most money: the pure scorers. Kessel, JVR, Lupul - nothin' there at all.

It was a 5-3 through two penalties. Stafford wasn't allowed out of the box and when the box opened making it 5-4 Myers or Stafford were allowed out. Sabres actually made a mistake and didn't ice a fourth defender for about 10 seconds.

Penalty called. ~20 seconds played. Another penalty called. About 1:20 goes by, 3rd penalty called.

So 1 guy in the box with 20 seconds on the PP, another guy with 40, 3rd guy with 2 mins. First guy isn't supposed to leave until the first whistle. Myers is the guy with 40 seconds left.

When 20 seconds is up, Myers jumps onto the ice while the game is playing and skates to the bench. No one jumps onto the ice for him from the bench. 20 seconds goes by and there's a whistle just as the second penalty ends. The guy who took the first penalty (Stafford?) jumped onto the ice.
