Some positives and negatives. Our passing game is a bit sloppy, some players look a bit out of shape. But we have the right attitude and we look a little better defensively compared to last season. Buffalo defended really well on their PK and Miller came up big time after time but that will not last the whole game. If we can keep defending as a team soon we will score on one of our chances.
 
Not clicking on offence. Stagnant powerplay... no creativity or movement. Even after Carlyle called a timeout. They'd better pick it up in the second.

Has done it in international games etc . Russia. Also scored there during those pp:s.

Randy might not even know that. They can't know everything you know. Somebody better call and tell him.

These hockey players are so stupid and simple minded.

Our pp was awesome. Good movement, good shots and some close calls. Could have had 3 but Miller was good.

Guess we just forget what good goaltending is like. :)

Can't we have a semi-decent one timer play here on a 5 on 3? So frustrating to watch a 5 on 3 with no urgency and useless back to back passes.

I have no doubt that not scoring on the easiest scenario in hockey is going to cost us this game.

Buffalo is going to score on all of their PP too, I can smell it.

It's called plays... They set things up for there top guys to be the triggers and it worked just didn't score. Phanuef post Kessel robbed missing the net... come on guys this is ridiculous why is it every time the Leafs trail in the game this thread turns into a nightmare of over analysis, exaggerating and hate... It's 1-0 not 10-0:help:

A couple solid shifts, especially one in his own end early in the game. Then we got a bunch of PPs and he was stapled to the bench.

Still playing steady, but he's looked rather poor on the PP again. Bozak and van Reimsdyk were playing the point with Phaneuf by the end.

Still looking uncomfortable offensively, and did a bad job covering the point on the goal. He's been moved to the 3rd line with Kadri and Komarov.
 
5 on 5 we have to keep it more simple, get a guy going to the net put an accurate wrister on Miller and look for a tip or a rebound and hammer it in. Too much perimeter play for my liking.

I'm not worried, keep in mind 1/2 of the NHL'ers in the league havent played a lick of hockey since the lockout, players are rusty and is going to take a while to get their groove back. Also the players here are adjusting to a new system that focuses on defense, some are allerigic to it and others just stink but the good news is the majority of them are buying into Carlyle, its going to take time to learn the ropes and to properly excute the plan.

I don't understand why Kadri doesn't get promoted to second line and get better power play opportunities? Sounds like he deserves it.
