Pretty risky considering he's just coming back from injury.
Could be the end for Primeau. It's up to Dobes to show he belongs.

You can't keep giving Monty all the starts, he needs a break too, and the club has zero confidence in Primeau.
Dobes needs to come up, next season Fowler will take #1 in Laval and will play the majority of games.

We have a back-to-back coming up and it's clear Primeau is not the guy. I still think they have a trade for a vet in the works.
I agree this was needed looking at the schedule. I just hope this is not their long-term solution for the season. Dobes needs AHL time.

Hopefully he pulls a Halak when we had Aebischer underperforming and makes a statement to be with the team long term. Monty can’t play every game. If Dobes ends up not being ready, they need to make a trade and get a goalie. The Primeau experiment did not work out.

They might have something in the hopper and Dobes gets a taste this weekend, before going back when Primeau is swapped for a veteran 3rd stringer.

Trebs and I were having a nice discussion about this in another thread. He stated he would give Dobes and Hughes some starts. I didn't agree that this should be THE solution for the year, but we need something in the meantime. Might as well give them a taste of the NHL.

The 3 goalies carousel is back. 
If they decide to keep Dobes up, he needs to share the load with Monty at near 50% to continue his development, not sit for 5 games before his next one.

They didn’t announce a corresponding move. Will they simply waive Primeau or is he eligible for a conditioning stint given how he hasn’t played in so long?

There’s a position with playing time included in the NHL for Dobes if he’s ready. Other fans would be better able to say if he is or not as I haven’t been watching many AHL games. Montembault should realistically not be starting more then 2-3 games in a row.The 3 goalies carousel is back.
