let in a few soft goals yesterday honestly on many teams he would be a backup goalie. We picked him up as such and he still is a backup goalie.Opportunity now. Monty has been inconsistent.
Perhaps Dobes can challenge Hutson for the Calder ;-)Opportunity now. Monty has been inconsistent.
You are 100% correct. Monty is being overplayed and has lost some mojo in recent weeks.Opportunity now. Monty has been inconsistent.
Monty was inconsistent since early in the season, long before he was overloaded from mid-November to mid-December.You are 100% correct. Monty is being overplayed and has lost some mojo in recent weeks.
Yes but it didn't help that the team in front of him was brutalMonty was inconsistent since early in the season, long before he was overloaded from mid-November to mid-December.
If Dobes wins tonight... does he go again until he loses?

Especially at their level. You can’t do that with a Carey Price. But Montembeault shouldn’t be the anointed starter. He makes as much as a really good backup. That's what I would do. It should be the message to them both. Win and you're in, outside of back to backs.
But only if Dobes wins again tonight.
Evidently his dad was in attendance and he hadn't seen him in 18 months. The saves in OT were on another level, that's what folks need to remember, that when the game was on the line...he was there!Love the mental game on this kid. He was put in shitty spots to start the game resulting in 2 goals on 3 shots, but instead of letting it get to him he got better as the game went on and helped save the game in OT.
Pretty incredible considering the amount of pressure there was given it was his first game at the Bell Centre and it was a huge game given they lost on Saturday.
I want to see him play back to back especially if he had a great first game of those 2.He should, and should be getting more regular starts regardless of tonight's outcome.
