Dobes could be in Montreal by trade deadline. Many teams usually looking for netminding as season goes on. Habs Have a couple NHL caliber ones on cheap contract

I think, he will be better than Primeau, as a matter of fact, i think he's already better than him, because he's a very confident goalie.
I hope he starts strong and forces management to adjust the current NHL tandem

I'm excited for him. He's big and very athletic for his size. His positioning was a weakness at start of last year, was overcommitting to shots and exerting unnecessary energy flying all over the crease when he didn't have to. But he's cleaned that up nicely. I see a lot of Pekka Rinne similarities.
Fans need to temper their expectations though especially for a rookie goalie. They take time. I fear one bad game and there will be threads about how he's not NHL calibre, etc lol

I wouldn't call him up until the Habs figure out how to play in their own end. He won't make a difference and it could hurt his Development.

You are not wrong...what I would like to see is more progress until around Christmas, then look at how he is doing. He has serious potential.
Our goalie situation will take on a sort of Sith apprentice/master dynamic pretty soon

Only chance habs have at being competitive anytime in the next 10 is riding hot goalies again so I hope this guy keeps improving, looks legit.
I am no expert whatsoever but I watched all last season and this season so far and what stands out to me is how quick he moves side to side, he is super athletic. His rebound control needs to improve and his puck handling I would consider average.
He had an atrocious start to his rookie season only to be as good or better than any AHL goalie after Christmas.
Everyone wants to bypass him and anoint Fowler as the future #1 and he very could be but don't write off Dobes just yet.
Again, I know nothing about what it takes to be a goalie but as someone who watches most games...this kid should be considered a legitimate prospect.

If Hugo is anywhere serious that we want to be in the mix for a playoff spot this goaltending tandem has to improve like starting tonight.
otherwise it's time to move on from 1 or both of them.Both have been awful at times.Can't wait till playoff chances are too far gone if there is a chance.
