Its been evident.. Pressure the D and our inability to break it out clean has been blatantly obvious...
Also this team fumbles a lot of pucks. The forward board play is weak. All true but Sandy has not been the same.
How to fix Sanderson?
Pounder...Put him with Jensen. Stop trying to balance the pairs.

Ever since the Flyers game where Ullmark single handedly gave the game away, the team hasn't been the same. I think they're demoralized and struggling to regain some hunger and passion.

As for Sanderson: I am not seeing his trademark escapability when under pressure. He's also getting overpowered. I guess growing pains for a young player.

Ullmark and Sanderson are big factors in the team's struggles but good lord our bottom six is a black hole. I can't believe how bad Amadio is. Everytime I watch (which is less and less these days) he looks like an AHLer.

Pinto's inability to produce is another issue.

Thinking back to that 8-1 St Louis game and the 3-0 shutout of the Leafs; what we have now is a shadow of that team.

Chabot - Jensen
Kleven - Hamonic
Sebrango - JBD

Are we just trying to throw away 2 pts or what?
Tell me how many two point games we've had in the NHL recently with him in the line up. We are below .500 on the year and we have essentially lost two of the last three on the road. We're heading into December looking essentially the same as we did last season. I want to win as much as anyone else here, but Sanderson has been f***ing terrible 5v5 and on the PP. If he's injured he should sit. If he's got a tweak he should sit. If he just doesn't have something going on right between his ears, he should sit. Once again, despite my optimism, this team will be lucky to even get a sniff at the playoffs.

We play Detroit next and they just had a barn burner against Vancouver, who recently beat us. The chances of us beating Detroit with the current style of lazy neutral zone play is not very high. If you don't want to sit Sanderson, then what else can we do to make this team listen and play properly? It's a joke watching their little mistakes turn into massive problems in our D zone. I am growing tired of it happening again and again.

I don’t know what you think will happen giving everyone else the toughest match-ups and more minutes to the likes of JBD, Kleven and Hamonic. Sitting a guy just to send a weird message when you desperately need points is silly. He’s still our best defenceman. Even on his worst night he’s better than almost everyone else you’d be be giving his minutes to. The domino effect is you are going to overwhelm absolutely everyone else on the roster with a move like that - Chabot and Jensen will get overworked, the rest of the D will be in over their heads and the forwards will barely touch the puck.

He absolutely needs to be better, sometimes players struggle. Idk what else to say.

Kleven is the only LD in that mix and I think he should be in the AHL currently. Otherwise, the others are RD and would likely not be taking Sanderson's spot. What do I think? I think a bunch of AHL call ups would play and fight for the puck with more passion than this team currently does. We are back to the habit of giving away games in the neutral zone through lazy plays by our forwards and D. I don't have any answers for you, other than to say we need to see some big moves from Staios to shake up this team, otherwise we are missing the playoffs for eight straight seasons.

7 pts in his first 5 games,
7 pts in the last 20 games.

You'd think he'd score more by accident with the amount of time he's out there for.

I have seen some encouraging signs from Sanderson the last few games, but we seriously need to stop playing Hamonic with him

He was so dominant in his 21 y/o season, I think this graph shows how good he was becoming. It's a bump on the road early this season but he needs to bounce back with a flash!

He's been pretty bad for a while, and it seems that Green seems to be easing his minutes from being a lynchpin #1 to being a 21/22 minute a night guy with Jensen/Chabot eating minutes towards 23ish each

He IS the teams best defender, by a county mile. He hasn't played like it since the 5th game of the season.

He needs to get going, and it's understandably hard with no partner for the majority of the season. The Chabot/Jensen pair is more than pulling their weight, if a Sanderson pair can get going, the Sens are in a good spot.

He needs help, he can't be a matchup defender with legitimately the worst D in the league on his pair. It's not viable. It's incredibly frustrating to go through the same thing with Chabot for 6 years, and then once that is finally taken care of, Sanderson goes through the same thing.
