Jeff O’Neill just made a “Jake Sanderson will be nominated for the Norris this year” prediction on Overdrive.
So all fair to post on the main boards.
Jeff O’Neill is the real life equivalent of a main board thread starter.
100%, let them figure it out. Unfortunately for us, there are pre-scouts in the real NHL, so no one's gonna be surprised these days.Lot of "little brother syndrome" from this fanbase sometimes.
Threads get made as soon as a promising young player starts to outperform expectations, which is just annoying.
Sanderson seems to be insanely underrated by a number of fans, who apparently haven't moved off of his projection as a defensive D pre-draft, but it's still cringe to see threads on the main board touting how great he is. People will figure it out on their own.
Hard disagree. He's the best analyst, and sports personality, in the game.
He's certainly the sweatiest. So he's got that going for him.Hard disagree. He's the best analyst, and sports personality, in the game.
Nice hyperboleHard disagree. He's the best analyst, and sports personality, in the game.
Back when Hyman was on the Leafs:
He had just finished a season with 33 points in 43 games.
(Insert McDavid winger here)
I like O’Neill but at least half of what he says is for his own amusement or to be a troll IMO.
This year lol?Looking forward to the inevitable fury when Sanderson starts receiving Norris votes, when ever that may be.
Tied last year's goal total this afternoon and currently sits at 12 points in 14 games.
100%. I've thought this for a while.Starting to think that Sanderson isn't just the teams best defenseman. He's becoming the best player on the team period.
Progression is linear sometimes but certainty in this case. I feel like he played better last year
I would rather the Sanderson from last year who had less points instead of the turnover machine of this year. Less is more with Jake.Progression is linear sometimes but certainty in this case. I feel like he played better last year
He has the skill and vision to be a league-wide top-10 #1 defenseman. He needs reps to do this without the pressure of trying not to make game-breaking mistakes. He needs to be on the 2nd pair this year at 5-on-5, not the first pairing. #1 PK and #2 PP is good for him too.I would rather the Sanderson from last year who had less points instead of the turnover machine of this year. Less is more with Jake.
